Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and hardworking Dock Staff to join our team for the 2025 season. As Dock Staff, you'll be at the heart of the guest experience, ensuring smooth operations on and around the dock while providing excellent customer service. This is a physically demanding yet rewarding role that combines outdoor work with opportunities to explore one of Canada's most beautiful coastal areas.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist guests with launching and docking kayaks, paddleboards, and canoes.
Maintain and organize watersports equipment, ensuring it is clean, functional, and safely stored.
Provide basic instructions and safety guidelines for guests using watersports equipment.
Handle guest luggage, supplies, and shipments arriving via water taxi.
Support water taxi operations, including loading/unloading passengers and equipment.
Ensure the dock area is clean, organized, and safe at all times.
Perform minor maintenance tasks on dock infrastructure and equipment as needed.
Communicate effectively with other staff and management to coordinate guest services and activities.
What We're Looking For:
A friendly and approachable personality with excellent customer service skills.
Physical fitness and ability to handle physically demanding tasks. Please note that a large part of the role involves moving and carrying kayaks--single kayaks weigh around 60lbs, and double kayaks can weigh up to 100lbs, so they must be carried with a coworker.
Strong swimming skills and comfort working on or near the water.
Basic knowledge of paddle-sport safety
A team player with a proactive, can-do attitude.
Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions, whether it's enduring long hours in the hot sun or tackling tasks during heavy rain. This role suits individuals who are adaptable and unphased by changing weather conditions.
Compensation and Perks:
Daily wage $140/day
Food and accommodations provided while on shift.
Rotation: Two weeks on-site, one week off (food and accommodations not provided during off weeks).
Staff access to kayaking equipment and opportunities to explore the surrounding area during downtime.
Discounted rates for family stays at the lodge.
Season Dates:
The position runs from July to early October. Priority will be given to applicants who can commit to the full season.
