Divisional Accountant, Bathurst, New BrunswickWhen you join our team as a Divisional Accountant, you will be responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures.What You'll Do

  • Timely and accurate preparation, analysis, and reporting of financial information for the division (both manufacturing and woodlands):
  • Full cycle accounting and related reporting
  • Cost reports
  • Budgets
  • Forecasts
  • Variance reporting
  • Ensure proper recording of general ledger, accounts payable, production and purchasing transactions.
  • Preparation of financial analysis, statements, and forecasts for the division.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis in response to divisional, regional, and corporate requests.
  • Analyse and advise on business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments and future revenues.
  • Calculate financial and operating metrics.
  • Participation in operational initiatives, meetings, and planning.
  • Analysis of capital project proposals and preparation of capital spending requests.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Adhere to corporate policies, procedures and controls.
  • Fixed assets management and tracking.
What You Offer
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, business or another related field.
  • CPA designation or be actively working towards their CPA designation would be considered and asset.
  • Manufacturing and/or forestry industry experience is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, codes and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work effectively in a highly interactive/energetic team environment.
  • Detail and results oriented.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with Mill manager, mill supervisors, peers and other departments.
  • Strong analytical intuition, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills to develop/implement effective solutions.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented individual with a hands-on approach to understanding our business.
  • Ability to organize, plan and implement tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of IFRS and Financial systems.
