Job Summary
Reporting directly to the Program Director for Children and Women\'s Health, Eastern Urban Zone, NL Health Services is seeking an experienced professional with strong planning, analytical, communication, operational improvement, change management and leadership skills to create and manage a child and youth central intake. The Division Manager will be responsible for implementation and monitoring of clinical best practices and operational improvements associated with access to care and optimization for children and youth referred for services within a NLHS program or service. This includes patients waiting for autism assessment/diagnosis, child development, general pediatrics, child and youth community health services and case management, along with other program areas to be determined. The division manager works closely with physician and administrative leadership to develop and define criteria for appropriate and timely management of service demand and develop strategies toward the efficient use of existing physician and human resources to optimize service capacity. The division manager directs staff within areas of accountability; encourages professional development activities; completes regular performance evaluations; participates in the recruitment process and ensures fair and consistent application of the collective agreement. They establish staffing requirements and monitor and interpret staff utilization statistics. They establish performance expectations through feedback and guidance for the department and individual employees. The Division Manager is responsible for planning, developing, implementing and evaluating key directions, objectives, and strategies, quality and risk initiatives, and safety initiatives for patients and staff in a dynamic environment.
Job Qualifications
Education
Baccalaureate Degree in a health related discipline is required.
Master\'s Degree is preferred.
Experience
A minimum of five (5) years of acute care experience within the last seven (7) is required.
Previous management and leadership experience is required.
Experience in program development, continuous operational improvement, and wait time initiatives/projects is required.
Experience/knowledge of single-entry frameworks an asset.
Acute care experience in Pediatrics, Women\'s Health would be an asset.
