Job Description
Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) is one of the largest school divisions in Alberta, serving the education needs of approximately 17,950 students in 42 schools. EIPS is recruiting a temporary full-time Grade 1 Teacher at Mills Haven Elementary.
Mills Haven Elementary serves approximately 475 students in kindergarten to Grade 6, with 24 teaching staff and 17 support staff. The school is located in Sherwood Park, AB.
Mills Haven Elementary, through the collaboration of staff, parents, guardians and students, provides a safe and positive learning environment for diverse students as they grow academically, emotionally and socially. Mills Haven Elementary hosts the Division's German Language and Culture Program.
Commencing September 15, 2025 and ending June 24, 2026

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Education degree Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate Effective organization and classroom management skills Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and challenged Excellent verbal and written skills Experience or familiarity with analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction Strong collaboration and teamwork skills Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training
