Position Description:
Reporting to the IT Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for protecting organizations computer network and systems from cyberattacks, breaches and similar activities. Also responsible for large-scale Network design, Active Directory design, configuration, deployment, management, and Windows support. This position involves assisting in the supervision of technology services staff and will include establishing work schedules, evaluations, communication with schools and different employee groups. This is an exempt position and as such is not eligible for overtime and it is not part of a Union.

Job Duties

Responsible for the administration of Windows 2008/2012/2016/2019 domain and messaging infrastructures, Active Directory Group

Server Group Policy administration (creation, application, troubleshooting)

Prepare and maintain technical documentation (i.e. Build reports, Operational procedures, Change Control, recommendation, progress reports)

Participate in server operating systems builds, upgrades, migrations, patch management and troubleshooting

Ability to mentor and develop the skills of other team members

Provide after-hours on call support as required

Install and configure network equipment

Define policies for notification and resolution to events of managed devices

Installation of and maintenance or upgrades to implemented solutions

Additional system administration duties as required

Making sure the backups are running and able to restore in case of a security breach

Protects systems by defining access privileges, control structures and resources

Implementing security improvements by assessing current situation, evaluating trends and anticipating requirements

Upgrading systems by implementing and maintaining security controls

Maintaining quality service by following organization standards

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Degree/Diploma in Computer Science complemented by a minimum of 5-7 years in an operations role administering all aspects of Windows 2008/2012/2016/2019 Microsoft Server environments and services or related experience

Proven experience in VMWare ESX infrastructure, VMWare Vcenter, ISCSI storage, and RAID Array configuration and management

Proven experience and knowledge of Enterprise Active Directory Administration, Azure, Domain migrations, management and trouble shooting

Previous experience with an Enterprise Server and user environment is essential

Expert knowledge of System Administration, Network Security, MS Remote Desktop, Clustering, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN services

Proven experience with Network infrastructure, wired and wireless, including VLAN segregation and L3 switches

In depth experience with Palo Alto, Panorama, Router and Firewall configuration and replacements or upgrades

Knowledge and ability to develop programs, workflows, and scripts as required would be an asset

Backup infrastructure for virtual and physical machines and various cloud backup solutions

Proven experience with disaster recovery for, but not limited to, Active Directory, virtual and physical systems, networks and internet access

Follow baseline security of systems for critical infrastructure as directed

Demonstrate competence in problem resolution and an understanding of customer impact and educational needs

The ability to work collaboratively with department members and school staff(s)
