The Franchise Business Partner (FBP) plays a critical role in driving the sustained success and profitability of Papa John's franchises in British Columbia. This position focuses on coaching, supporting, and holding franchisees accountable to Papa John's operational, financial, and marketing frameworks, ensuring consistency and excellence across all locations. The FBP also ensures food safety and brand standards, and partners with franchisees to achieve year-over-year (YOY) sales growth and strong customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Franchisee Development
Mentor and guide franchisees to master Papa John's operational, financial, and marketing systems.
Support operators in hitting sales, service, and profitability targets.
Deliver operational training and ensure strong leadership development at the store level.
Policy & Brand Standards Enforcement
Coach and enforce Brand policies and standard
Ensure consistent food safety, product quality, and customer service standards.
Document visits and follow up with clear action plans for franchisee compliance.
Operational & Market Support
Translate strategic initiatives into actionable, measurable sales and service activities.
Monitor competitive activity and local market trends to recommend pricing, marketing, and promotional opportunities.
Assist franchisees with staffing, scheduling, and execution of Papa John's "Better Ingredients. Better Pizza." promise.
This role has a large training component.
Financial Performance
Analyze P&L statements, cash flow, and EBITDA to identify opportunities for improvement.
Guide franchisees in cost controls, labor optimization, and maximizing contribution margin.
Help operators implement changes that directly improve profitability and financial health.
Relationship Building & Accountability
Build trusted, productive relationships with franchisees while ensuring accountability to brand standards.
Influence through data, coaching, and leadership rather than directive management.
Serve as a resource to operators, escalating issues when contractual compliance is at risk.
Travel
Short stay travel required for out of town market supervision.
Qualifications
Experience
Minimum 5 years in a General Manager, Multi-Unit Manager, or District Manager role in QSR or foodservice.
Proven track record of driving operational excellence, sales growth, and profitability.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience considered.
