Location: Happy Valley-Goose Bay or Wabush As our new Distribution Services Supervisor you will coordinate and supervise the activities of the Distribution Technologists and Distribution Field Representatives, participate in planning and scheduling the work and perform a variety of related administrative duties. You will ensure that skilled/trained workers are available to complete the planned work, as well ensure that the necessary tools, equipment, spare parts, etc. are properly maintained and available for use when needed. You will identify, develop and establish work methods, work procedures, and work practices for the group supervised. You will also participate in preparing and administering the Operating and Capital Budgets and Five Year Plan. This position will also be responsible for both Central and Northern regions in Newfoundland. You investigate problems and provide verbal and/or written reports to the Manager on problems encountered, corrective action taken or recommended and any associated cost, and ensure all incident reports are investigated and completed timely in accordance with the Safety and Health Program. You will also ensure that the CIAC policy and damage claims guidelines are followed as related to Customer Services. You also have an understanding of the Hydro/Aliant Joint Agreement, easement guidelines, and a comprehensive understanding of distribution engineering standards. You will ensure that all procedures identified in the Environmental Management System are followed and that employees are aware of all environment responsibilities. In addition, you will be expected to administer the Collective Agreement and have working knowledge of the Work Protection Code. Job Requirements:

  • Graduation from a recognized two or three year course in Electrical/Electronic Technology program;
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Technologist;
  • Excellent interpersonal , communication and collaboration skills are essential;
  • Proven supervisory skills combined with sound judgement, diplomacy and decision making skills;
  • Ability and experience in managing and motivating staff;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment;
  • Strong working knowledge of computers and corporate applications (i.e.: Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office Suite, JDE, etc.);
  • Frequent travel will be required for this position;
  • Must posses a valid driver\'s license;
  • Other combinations of related education and experience will be considered.
