Your Opportunity
As Distribution Engineering Manager, you will lead our Western Canadian power distribution team, driving excellence in project delivery, team performance and client engagement. Your leadership will directly influence the Distribution industry in British Columbia, while opening doors for your own professional growth through high-impact projects and meaningful client engagement. You will serve as the strategic point of contact for utility and industry clients, ensuring high-quality outcomes while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and innovation. You will work alongside a strong group of technical leads and project managers to ensure team success. Your leadership experience, combined with excellent interpersonal skills, will help cultivate a positive, high-performing team with a culture of accountability and a strong focus on safety. This role blends technical depth with people leadership. You will provide day-to-day coaching, mentorship and guidance, while being accountable for technical delivery of projects. Your background in engineering design and project management will serve you well in supporting the range of responsibilities. These may include design oversight, quality control and assurance, project engineering management, resource planning, client engagement and, importantly, team development.
Your Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage multi-disciplinary design teams for utility distribution projects across Western Canada.
Provide mentorship, technical guidance and performance coaching to team members.
Liaise with discipline and team leads, project managers, vendors, contractors and clients to ensure seamless project execution.
Oversee engineering deliverables including designs, technical specifications, opinions of probable costs (engineer's estimates), reports and regulatory submissions.
Participate in project delivery as necessary, which may include meeting with clients, contractors, stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
Organize and chair regular team meetings to track project and proposal milestones, align resource needs, review client requirements and share lessons learned.
Foster team building and cohesion, promoting inter-office work collaboration.
Attend and report out on progress and resource needs at regular leadership meetings, including tracking key performance indicators.
Support the day-to-day activities of all phases of projects, from initiation through engineering, construction, and close out.

Technical Expertise:- Deep understanding of utility distribution systems and project delivery.
Familiarity with electrical utility systems, policies, procedures, and engineering standards.
Experience working with a major electrical utility with a focus on British Columbia and Alberta. Experience with BC Hydro systems is a strong asset.
Proficient in power structure analysis tools (e.g., SpidaCalc, PLSCADD).
Project Management:- Excellent skills in scheduling, resource optimization and time management
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of tools, CAD software and utility GIS systems.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in electric power utility design and project delivery, preferably within a consulting environment.
Typical office environment working with computers and sitting at a desk. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
