The DC Team Lead supports the daily operations of the Distribution Centre, acting as a bridge between Associates and the Supervisor. This role combines hands-on warehouse tasks (receiving, stowing, picking, packing, and returns) with leadership responsibilities, ensuring processes run efficiently, daily targets are met, and team members are guided and supported.
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in overseeing DC Associates during shifts.
Act as a point of contact for operational questions and daily priorities.
Support the Supervisor with onboarding, training, and coaching new team members.
Open and close the warehouse as is needed
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor daily productivity and quality targets, ensuring orders are fulfilled on time and within SLA.
Delegate tasks among Associates and provide direction when needed.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment to support efficiency.
Communicate operational, inventory, or staffing issues to the Supervisor in a timely manner.
Assist with inventory counts and help reconcile discrepancies.
Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Distribution Centre.
Step in to support the Supervisor with shift operations when needed (e.g., opening/closing procedures, prioritization of workload).
Purchase and maintain warehouse supplies to ensure smooth operations.
Monitor stock levels of office, janitorial, and general items, replenishing as needed.
Carry out and support daily warehouse functions including receiving, stowing, picking, packing, inventory counts, and processing returns.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in warehouse or logistics operations.
Leadership experience (formal or informal) in a fast-paced environment is an asset.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment.
