Our expectations:

Under the direction of the Eastern Canada Distribution Director, the Distribution Center Manager manages daily operations in a small to medium-sized Distribution Center with up to 50 employees. The incumbent is responsible for the team\'s performance and execution of all operations functions at the facility, including develop and execute daily and weekly operational plans; meet and exceed customer service requirements; maximize quality, throughput, and productivity for the facility; manage a diverse employee population; nurture positive employee relations, with a focused, safe, and productive work environment; and ensure all corporate policies and procedures are adhered to and short and long-term plans are implemented.

Your role:

Develop and execute daily, weekly, and yearly operational plans that meet or exceed customer service level expectations while achieving maximum operating efficiency
Coordinate all activities to staff, organize, and direct Distribution Centre operations to effectively manage the receipt, storage, loading, and shipment of products to stores
Partner with regional support staff to ensure effective utilization of Distribution Centre resources
Communicate effectively with the management team regarding business objectives, safety issues, current issues, upcoming events, and demands for the day
Develop, analyze, and recommend operational and systemic improvements to meet current and future service, throughput, and cost
Ensure operational components of Distribution Centre budget are met
Develop and implement short and long-range staffing plans based on productivity objectives and forecasted volume requirements
Recruit, hire, train, develop, and retain effective shift management teams
Ensure Supervisors live by our 5 core behaviours and follow the expectations

Mentor, monitor, and develop Supervisors\' performance
Set their team up for success; achieve or exceed key performance indicators, as well as safety, performance, and budget targets
Participate in and action succession planning
Ensure all safety policies and procedures are implemented and observed, and that equipment and work areas are neat, clean, and well organized
Perform daily inspections of the physical condition of the distribution centre and equipment, direct needed maintenance and/or repair, and execute regular physical monitoring of inventory in overflow sites
Forecast inventory levels to make sure to have the required capacity to maintain the receiving flow. If needed, escalate to the appropriate teams to determine strategies to maintain efficient flow to stores

The qualifications we are looking for:

Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent experience
Minimum of 5 years of progressive management experience leading small to medium volume Distribution Centre environment
Ability to develop and lead a high-performing team (previous experience in managing Supervisors, mandatory)

Ability to build rapport and trust with others
Strong communication skills with all levels of the organization
Able to effectively lead projects from inspection to implementation
Ability to make solid decisions quickly based on limited information and changing conditions
Analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex problems; creative problem-solving
Strong computer skills; experience with software applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, etc

Experience with WMS Software
Effectively prioritizes work and time management skills
Proven record for complying with safety requirements, and ability to build a culture of safety among subordinates and peers
