Accountant
to support our financial operations and contribute to the continued success of our business.
Position Overview:
As a Dispatcher, you will be responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound freight, ensuring smooth, timely, and cost-effective transportation operations. You'll be the key point of contact for drivers, customers, and warehouse personnel, managing load schedules and resolving any logistical issues in real time.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, schedule, and coordinate all inbound and outbound shipments across the U.S.
Dispatch drivers efficiently while maximizing equipment utilization and minimizing empty miles
Monitor driver routes, delivery windows, and transit times; make real-time adjustments as needed
Track loads from pickup to delivery using a Transportation Management System (TMS) or GPS tracking tools
Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers regarding load assignments, route changes, and service issues
Communicate proactively with customers regarding shipment status, delays, and delivery confirmations
Manage appointment scheduling with shippers, receivers, and warehouses
Ensure proper documentation is prepared for each load, including BOLs, rate confirmations, and delivery instructions
Resolve service failures, delivery delays, accessorial issues, and driver-related concerns quickly and effectively
Monitor HOS (Hours of Service) compliance and ensure drivers are operating within DOT regulations
Coordinate with carrier partners and third-party logistics providers to secure capacity when needed
Maintain accurate records of all dispatch activities, including driver logs, load status, and incident reports
Assist with load planning and backhaul optimization to improve operational efficiency
Communicate and collaborate with internal teams including operations, customer service, and accounting
Maintain strong working relationships with customers, drivers, and carriers to foster trust and long-term collaboration
Identify recurring issues or bottlenecks in the dispatch process and recommend process improvements
Ensure compliance with safety standards, transportation regulations, and company policies at all times
Qualifications:
Experience
: 3-5 years in dispatching or logistics preferred
Knowledge of U.S. geography, DOT regulations, and freight brokerage
a strong plus
Excellent communication and multitasking skills
Tech-savvy with experience using dispatch or TMS software
Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Ability to respond to emails in a professional and timely manner
