Dispatcher - (Full Time) - Ottawa, ON

Primary Purpose:

This position ensures the correct mix of resources (driver, equipment, etc.) for the efficient delivery of product, maximizing assets, while minimizing distribution costs.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Preparing, maintaining, evaluating, and updating daily vehicle routes to ensure productive delivery of our products to our customers.
  • Prioritizing new customer set-ups, off-schedule and emergency deliveries.
  • Coordinating alternate delivery dates with customers when required and assisting drivers with in-field problem resolution.
  • Assisting with the management of distribution costs.
  • Playing a key role in safety leadership.
  • Work closely with Packaged Gas Service Representatives (drivers) and the customer service team to ensure timely deliveries to customers in a safe, and efficient manner.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office 365 is an asset. Experience with Microsoft Excel, and Word is an asset.
  • Responsible for reviewing the accuracy of regulatory paperwork, including TDG, Vehicle Inspection Reports, Hours of Service, and quality assurance documents.
  • Assisting with deliveries when branch is short staffed.
  • Assisting with Warehouse duties.
Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Safety oriented.
  • Experience with digital logistics systems is an asset.
  • Ability to Multitask and Problem Solve.
  • Customer oriented.
  • Proficient time management.
