Position Summary

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Dispatcher is responsible for supporting and monitoring all on road activities completed by drivers and ensuring customer requirements are adhered to.

Location: 3030 Cleveland Avenue, Saskatoon

Schedule: Monday to Friday 7:00am - 4:00pm

NOTE: This is a contract position for 6 months and up to 1 year

What you will do

• Assess and support all driver inquires, supplying drivers with all needed information and tools for their trip. IE Trip sheets, access codes for locations, trip numbers, tractors keys
• Ensure coverage of vacant runs and all information is entered into A1
• Ensures great communication with operations team in regards to any issues or repairs required etc
• Utilize Back Office and XRS to help track and monitor driver activity
• Support team members and warehouse to ensure timely resolution of any issues
• Continual and proactive communication with operations team, drivers and customers.
• Manage and update customer portals as required.
• Ensure Trip Sheets are complete and A1 live updates are complete, progressing trips as required
• Manage all incoming/outgoing phone calls and emails as required
• Sort and process all inbound driver paperwork for billing and payroll
• Dispatch evening/weekend duties may be required (respond in timely manner to all customer/driver requests)
• Continuous improvement: continually strives to improve work processes, methods, environment, customer service and personal and team performance
• Other duties as assigned

What You\'ll Bring

• Minimum of 1 year of dispatching or related experience within the transportation industry
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs; Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to type up to 45 words per minute
• Understanding of trucking and hours of service an asset
• Proven experience in handling multiple priorities
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule and be able to work overtime if the demand arises
• Strong Leadership skills
