Site: Trillium Health Partners - Mississauga Hospital

City: Mississauga, ON

Status: Part-Time

Hours:

Position 1: Days - Saturday and Sunday - 0600-1800

Position 2: Nights - Saturday and Sunday 1800 - 0600

Pay Rate: $18.09/Hourly -"Rates are based on a leveling system"

It is also one of Canada's largest academically-affiliated tertiary care hospitals with highly-specialized regional programs in advanced cardiac, vascular, stroke, neurosciences, orthopedic, and sexual assault/domestic violence services.

: In this key role, you will oversee a state-of-the-art healthcare Control Centre. Your role will be to monitor numerous systems including fire and life safety, access control, and CCTV. You will assist in tracking and deployment of security staff and handle a variety of dispatch duties including incident call taking.

• Dispatch Security Guards to incidents, requests for assistance, emergencies, etc.
• Maintain control of access to and from the property
• Log details of radio transmission, telephone calls, and verbal instructions
• Direct backup support as necessary
• Inform management of major incidents
• Maintain the Camera Surveillance System
• Answer all incoming security telephone lines including the complex emergency telephone line.
• Ensure that security operations occur consistent with policy and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism
• Must have at least 1-2 years of prior dispatch or industry-related experience
• Experience in healthcare is considered an asset**
• Must have a strong command and fluency in the English language both written and verbal
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment
• Must be able to handle stress and pressure and make a sound decision under duress
• Must demonstrate high attention to detail / observational awareness
• Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence and the ability to work productively and efficiently in a team

What You Need to Succeed:

• Knowledge of the security industry is considered an asset
• A working knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act
• Knowledge of Trespass to Property Act
• Previous dispatch experience in the emergency services setting such as Police, Fire, EMS

At the time of the interview applicant must be able to produce proof of completion of the following prerequisites:
1. Immunization Record (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and TB skin tests 1 and 2)
2. Proficient in English (both oral and written)
3. Vulnerable Sector Check
4. COVID Double Vaccination

Successful completion of the following requirements provided by Paladin is mandatory before placement:
1. Report Writing
2. Additional courses as assigned
