We are seeking a Dispatchable Capacity Project Delivery Project Manager to work in our Generation Project Department. Under the
direction of the Generation Projects Department Manager, you will assume a lead role for all Project Management duties for the
Project Delivery Team. You will be responsible to provide leadership and direction to the Project Team in planning, execution,
coordination, and scheduling of all phases of procurement, design, manufacturing, installation and commissioning, including
construction management, contract management, quality control, and safety and environmental compliance.
Responsibilities:
Lead the planning and execution of the Dispatchable Capacity Project from initiation through to completion. Provide strategic
direction, oversight, and support to the project team to ensure successful delivery within time, budget, and scope. Provide leadership within the Generation Projects Department, working closely with counterparts to advance the practice of
project management, support strategic priorities, and promote a team culture. Manage the Project Delivery Team in coordinating, monitoring, recording, and reporting the progress of the project.
Maintain accountability for initiating and adhering to schedules and approved budgets. Monitor project participants'
accountability for initiating and/or adhering to the technical scope of the work, the project schedule, and the approved budget
and reports to management.
Oversee and manage all contract administration activities, resolve scope conflicts between Contractors, and facilitate
resolution of contractual issues in the various contracts associated with the project. Liaise between the Contractor and internal Manitoba Hydro departments (Design, Site Operations, Indigenous Relations,
Communications, and others), consultants, and suppliers to ensure they all share a common understanding of requirements of
the project and to resolve manufacturing and installation issues. Lead, manage, and assign Project Managers to support them to build effective project teams and to successfully execute
projects, including design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project close-out. Support project governance structure that empowers and enables project managers and teams and effectively solves
problems. Lead or have overall responsibility for medium to large projects which have strategic importance to the enterprise.
Engage and direct Architects and Engineering Consultants to provide project services.
Provide support and leadership and engage in the preparation of supply and construction specifications, analysis, and
recommendations for contract award and issuing of purchase orders for the work.
Qualifications:
A four-year post-secondary degree in engineering, business, applied sciences or other relevant discipline, plus a minimum of
eight years of progressive related experience in project management and administration, preferably in a utility, engineering or
construction environment, including three years of supervisory experience.

A post-secondary diploma in a relevant discipline such as engineering technology, project management, or business
administration, plus ten years of progressive related experience in project management and administration, preferably in a
utility, engineering or construction environment, including three years of supervisory experience.
Candidates with alternative skill sets and/or demonstrating a combination of relevant education and work experience may also
be considered. Courses in leadership and/or PMP designation and/or training will be considered an asset.
Professional member in good standing with Engineers Geoscientist Manitoba, if applicable.
Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
Familiar with fundamentals of all related engineering disciplines.
Experience related to projects associated with Generation Operations facilities and operations would be an asset.
Experience related to projects associated with significant equipment upgrades or unit overhauls would be an asset.
Good computer skills, including experience with scheduling software and the Microsoft Office suite of software.
Mature judgement and proven ability to carry out assigned duties with minimal direction and supervision.
Thorough knowledge of corporate policies, procedures, and regulations, including Corporate Safety & Environmental policies
and the Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health Act and associated regulations.
Demonstrated experience in performing all expected supervisory responsibilities such as performance reviews, personal
development plans, interviews, discipline, etc.
Demonstrated ability in providing mature leadership and delegating authority related to planning, organizing, and motivating
the activities of a group of engineers and technical support staff.
Demonstrated ability to maintain harmonious working relationships and interact effectively with others at all levels, both inside
and outside the enterprise.
Demonstrated high degree of initiative and ability to interact effectively with others at all levels, both inside and outside the
enterprise.
Must obtain and maintain a current Personal Risk Assessment and a "Clear" security rating in accordance with Manitoba
Hydro policy P513.
Possess and maintain a valid Province of Manitoba Driver's Licence.
Salary Range
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $55.94-$76.64 Hourly,
$107,201.12-$146,866.46 Annually.
