Job Summary



We are seeking an experienced Dispatch and Warehouse Lead to oversee daily operations of our delivery and warehouse services. This role will support our continued success and become a key catalyst to our ambitious growth plans.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of dispatch and warehouse activities, ensuring efficient processes, and maintaining high standards of service, safety and productivity.

This role requires strong leadership skills and a thorough understanding of warehouse management systems. The successful candidate is highly organized, an effective communicator, a flexible team player, and a creative problem solver.

This is a hands-on role, working from our Delta warehouse Monday-Friday.

The position includes the following duties and responsibilities:



Dispatch and Warehousing Operations



Lead daily operations, ensuring consistency and efficiency in execution of dispatch and warehouse services in a timely and accurate manner.

Act as first point of contact for customer orders, quotes and inquiries. This includes:

Managing email inbox and phone lines for customer requests*
Replying to the customer quickly and in a solutions-positive manner*
Entering orders into inventory system*
Working with warehouse team to prioritize work and determine confirmations*
Sending invoices to customers for warehouse services*

Provide quotes to customers for dispatch and/or warehouse services. This includes:

Referring to internal rate cards and/or sourcing rates directly from carriers/vendors/partners*
Building profit margins*
Providing quotes to customers*
Negotiate and maintain updated rates with local and national trucking and warehouse partners*

Dispatch operation functions including:

Sending carrier confirmations and/or dispatching our own local delivery truck*
Creating shipment file and documentation including shipper and consignee information, packing lists, Bill of Lading, etc.*
Tracking and tracing*
Providing regular updates to the customer*
Obtaining Proof of Delivery and Issuing an invoice to customer upon delivery*

Manage customer escalations.

Oversee layout and storage systems for efficient space utilization and streamlined workflows.

Maintain and optimize use of warehouse management systems including accurate inventory records, pick tickets, pallet labels, etc.

Maintain accuracy of clients' goods, including regular and timely cycle counts.

Leadership + Culture



Supervise the warehouse team, including hiring, scheduling, performance management, and training with the support of our HR department. Analyze operational metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and lead projects that increase team productivity. Produce reports and provide analytical commentary and actionable insights to leadership team. Act as liaison between other departments (ocean/air import/export, accounting, etc.) to meet client needs and resolve operational issues. Safety + Compliance



Ensure all processes comply with WorkSafeBC safety regulations, CVSE (National Safety Code for Carriers), high quality standards, and company policies. Promote a culture focused on safety-first by leading by example and enforcing safety protocols. Ensures a clean and organized office/warehouse environment is maintained. Oversee regular truck and equipment maintenance to ensure all assets are in top condition.

Qualifications



3+ years of experience in warehouse services, preferably in a multi-site environment. 2+ years of experience in dispatch services, with solid knowledge of trucking and delivery process. Strong knowledge of warehousing, shipping/receiving, supply chain, and inventory management. Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. Proficient with technology, computers and software including WMS, inventory systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. Effective leadership skills with the ability to bring the team together towards a common goal. Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize work to meet deadlines with minimal supervision. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent interpersonal abilities. Ability to travel between locations as required. Valid driver's license is required. Knowledge of import/export processes and freight forwarding a bonus. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Forklift license and experience preferred. Experience using warehouse equipment (pallet jack, stacker, scale, etc) is preferred. First-Aid, OSHA or other relevant safety certifications is preferred.
