SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts is one of Canada's leading hotel management companies and manages a large portfolio of full-service, focused service and extended stay hotels across Canada. The company manages independent hotels and hotels operating under major franchise brands, such as Marriott and Hilton.

We are looking for a Kitchen Helper at the Residence Inn by Marriott Vancouver downtown in British Columbia. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality delivery of the breakfast service to our guests in an efficient and courteous manner, consistent with assisting in the daily operations of the Breakfast Room in accordance with both Residence Inn by Marriott and SilverBirch Hotel and Resorts standards. The starting wage for this position is $25.58

Duties and Responsibilities:

Fills dishwasher and reports any malfunctions to management Report to management any chemical shortages Ensure that all dishes, pots and pans, etc. are cleaned on an ongoing basis and ensure that has enough operating stock Assist Cooks with cleaning sheets Wipe up all spills immediately and keep workstation neat, tidy and organized always Ensure cleanliness and placement of countertops, dishwasher and sinks for end of shift duties Remove all garbage and dispose in the proper area daily Floor to be swept and washed daily Assist in receiving and putting away stock as required Keep all kitchen store areas clean and organized Ensure all chemicals are handled per WHMIS standards Keep all coolers clean and in an orderly manner Report any dish, glass or cutlery shortages to management Assist cooks with basic prep work when busy Any other related duties as assigned

Work Requirements:

Prior kitchen experience with dishwashing and prep work an asset Strong guest service and communication skills Team-player who can recognize the value of guests and associates Passion and drive to work and excel in the Hospitality Industry Able to multi-task and meet deadlines Be able to work various shifts, including early mornings and weekends FoodSafe certificate required Maintain a high level of professional appearance, demeanor, and ethics Reliable, punctual and responsible

Working Conditions:

Working in a fast-paced kitchen environment Standing, moving and bending on a regular basis Ability to lift and carry heavy items up to 20 lbs
