The Dishwasher / Kitchen Helper is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment. This role supports overall kitchen operations by washing dishes and equipment, cleaning designated areas, and assisting with basic food preparation tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, storage areas, and dishwashing station.
Clean and sanitize work surfaces, floors, sinks, and equipment throughout and at the end of each shift.
Clean and restock the staff and guest bathrooms as required.
Dispose of garbage, recycling, and compost according to restaurant procedures.
Return kitchen tools, containers, and smallwares to their proper locations after cleaning.
Cut down and sanitize cutting boards as part of daily cleaning routines.
Assist kitchen staff with basic prep tasks such as washing and peeling vegetables, portioning ingredients, and organizing deliveries when needed.
Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
Support the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a restaurant or commercial kitchen preferred, but not required.
Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long periods.
Schedule:
Part-time or full-time; evenings and weekends may be required.
