We are currently looking for a Dishwasher to join our team of committed professionals. This full-time summer contract position within the Association is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario's John Island Camp location in Spanish, Ontario.
Under the leadership of the Kitchen Team Lead the Dishwasher is responsible for doing dishes (before, during, and after meal service), complying with health and food safety and cleanliness standards.
START DATE: June 28, 2025
LOCATION: Spanish, ON
RATE OF PAY: $500.00 per week
Major Responsibilities
• Clean dishes from meal service and food preparation
• Place dishes in storage area
• Maintaining dish cleaning equipment (i.e. dishwasher, taps etc.)
• Wash worktables, cupboards and appliances
• Support in daily cleaning of dish-pit, and other areas of kitchen when requested
• Ensure that the health code standards are met/exceeded
• Remove trash and clean kitchen garbage containers
• Sweep and mop floors, and perform other duties to assist kitchen staff
• Adhere to the YMCA 's and John Island Camp policies, procedures, and guidelines
• Other duties as assigned by the Association
Qualifications
• Possession of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) considered an asset
• WHMIS Certifications
• Strong communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Able to lift a maximum of 50lb
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR C
• Current and satisfactory Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
