Our Calgary-based client in the energy sector is seeking an experienced Disaster Recovery (DR) Plan Consultant (Technical Business Analyst (BA)) for a 3+ month contract employment opportunity, potentially 2-3 days per week.As a Disaster Recovery Plan Consultant, you will assist in delivering a comprehensive disaster recovery plan. As a Disaster Recovery Plan Consultant, you will play a critical role in reviewing existing disaster recovery documentation, updating it as necessary, and collaborating with various teams to develop a robust and efficient disaster recovery plan aligned with the corporate Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and update existing DR Documentation
  • Gather Information for BCMS Scenario: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather detailed information about the specific scenario being developed for the Business Continuity Management System (BCMS).
  • Develop Disaster Recovery Plan: Utilize your technical expertise and business analysis skills to work closely with infrastructure, network, and security teams in creating a comprehensive disaster recovery plan that aligns with the BCMS requirements.
  • Liaise with various teams involved in disaster recovery planning, collaborating effectively.
  • Technical Experience: Leverage your technical background and previous disaster recovery experience, particularly in larger organizations, to provide valuable insights and implement best practices.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in business analysis with a strong technical background.
  • Prior experience in disaster recovery planning, preferably in large organizations.
  • Familiarity with Business Continuity Management Systems (BCMS) and related frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and business analysis best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and an ability to think critically about complex business challenges.
  • CBAP or other relevant business analysis certifications will be highly considered.
  • Technical certifications in IT, networking, or security are advantageous.
