Overview:

We are seeking compassionate individuals to join our team as Disability Support Workers. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing essential care and support to individuals experiencing developmental disabilities. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the people we support.

Responsibilities:

Assist individuals with daily living tasks as well as accessing their community and connecting with peers Be a role model and help guide problem solving and conflict resolution Maintain a clean and safe environment Follow support plans and instructions provided by healthcare professionals and provide support at medical appointments Monitor, report, and document progress towards goals and any changes Assist in coordinating social gatherings and planned group activities

Skills:

Experience in human services, specifically disability support is preferred Knowledge of medication administration, positive behaviour support, and person centered care is an asset Knowledge of the local community is an asset Willing to learn and grow in skills and knowledge

Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent (GED). Additional post-secondary education in a related field preferred. Valid Class 5 Drivers License and reliable vehicle is required. Valid Standard / Intermediate First Aid Certificate is required Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check is required Proficiency in spoken and written English. Job Types: Casual, Part-time

Pay: From $17.86 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 3 per week
