Job Description

We are seeking a Bilingual (French/English) Disability Claims Administrator to join our Coughlin team in Ottawa, Toronto, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Laval, or Montreal.



The Disability Claims Administrator provides administrative support and assistance to the Disability Claims department. They are responsible for the creation of a disability claim, follow up of necessary claim documentation, and assigning to a Disability Case Manager for review and analysis. The Disability Claims Administrator assists the Disability Case Managers with Long Term Disability referrals and submissions, responds to general client and member inquiries, and prepares specific group reports on a weekly, monthly or quarterly basis.

The Disability Claims Administrator will:



Set up attendance management, early intervention, and sick leave disability claims in database systems according to procedures, file all correspondence, medical information, and applications. Generate attendance management, early intervention, sick leave disability claims, and other claim related reports and charts. Review disability claim forms to ensure necessary identification information is accurate and outlined and form(s) are signed/dated and reviewing all generated reports to ensure they're sent to the correct location and individual. Liaise between plan administrators, claimants, policyholders, consultants, and insurers. Perform electronic data and document maintenance including scanning, faxing, filing, data entry, and any processes required to prepare documents. Verify work and data for accuracy and completion. Assist with Disability Management Committee meetings (book meetings, send invitations, send agenda, produce, and send minutes, assist with document preparation). Assist with preparing weekly, monthly, and quarterly disability reports.

To be Successful as the Disability Claims Administrator with People Corporation, you will need:



Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office and standard office administration procedures. Excellent grammatical, spelling, and communication skills in both official languages. To be highly skilled maintaining strong public relations, both within and outside the organization. Superior organizational skills, the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and the ability to manage time effectively. Resiliency and adaptability in order to to stand up well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. The ability to use tact and discretion to maintain information in the strictest of confidence.

All-Star Candidates will have:



Post-secondary courses in medical terminology will be considered an asset. Two years of related work experience in an office environment.
