Description:
The Director, Seniors Health East, working in close partnership with medical leadership and other integrated health teams, is accountable for the planning and delivery of high quality, accessible, sustainable, patient and family focused care for AHS delivered home care, palliative care and Outpatient geriatric care. In addition, responsibility for contracted home care and facility based continuing care in southeastern Alberta. The geographic area of responsibility is Medicine Hat, Bow Island, Brooks, Bassano, Taber, Oyen and the rural areas surrounding these communities. The role is accountable for the overall strategic implementation and operational planning for the assigned area, ensuring the alignment with provincial program strategies and South Zone strategic and operational plans. This includes developing and implementing site-based plans, ensuring the effective deployment of resources, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and developing collaborative relationships with other South Zone sites and provincial programs. Required Qualifications:

A minimum of post-secondary education in a health profession. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Related graduate bachelor's or master's degree in a health discipline preferred. Registration with an Alberta Regulated Health Profession preferred.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Progressive leadership experience in a healthcare environment, including a minimum of three years' experience in a management role in clinical services or health care operations for the assigned program(s), in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity. Demonstrated record of achievement as a manager, including extensive experience in improvement and innovation of services provided in a diverse clinical setting. Practical experience in strategy, policy development, project and program management. Uses strategic thinking, considering long-term goals assessing options and implications. Demonstrated ability to lead change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Ability to manage diverse human, financial and physical resources within a complex environment. Strong organizational skills, client-focused orientation and commitment to providing long term quality services. Experience in collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals.

Preferred Qualifications:

Leadership skills, including effective communication skills, demonstrated ability and comfort with decision-making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within a large, diverse organization and managing within a unionized sector. Clinical contract management experience is an asset.
