ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT OF CYBER SECURITY AND DIGITAL SOLUTIONS (CSDS)

Welcome to the Department of Cyber Security and Digital Solutions (CSDS), the guiding force behind digital transformation within the Government of Nova Scotia. Formerly known as the Nova Scotia Digital Service (NSDS) within the Department of Service Nova Scotia and Internal Services (SNSIS), we have evolved into a standalone department with a focused mission.

At CSDS, we support government departments and partners in their digital transformation journeys. The Mission:

Lead the strategic direction and evolution of the government\'s web and content platforms, ensuring they are user-centered, efficient, and aligned with the digital transformation goals of the province. This role is dedicated to improving the digital experience for all Nova Scotians, making government services more accessible and inclusive.

We are looking for leaders who are:

  • Experienced in applying and articulating the benefits of internet-era ways of working, which are a relatively new idea in government.
Your Role

As the Director, Web and Content, you will be part of the Digital Platforms division of the Department of Cyber Security and Digital Solutions. Your portfolio of platforms and services includes:
  • NovaScotia.ca
  • Content platforms including: blog, press releases, support
  • Web analytics
  • Search
  • Web standards and UX
  • Content management solutions
  • Content design and editing services
As the leader responsible for these platforms and services you will be tasked with setting the strategic direction and ensuring the team delivers on evolving the portfolio to align with a \'platforms\' approach that supports the digital transformation of government services to better serve the needs of Nova Scotians.

Your responsibilities include:
  • Providing leadership and direction to both internal and external resources.
  • Inspiring a team to work differently, by embracing human centered, iterative, and continuous improvement approaches to delivery.
  • Collaborating across multiple government departments to deliver the next generation of Web and Content platforms and services and develop the strategic direction.
  • Ensuring the effective management of human and financial resources by setting and evaluating staff performance targets, promoting diversity and a healthy workplace promoting teamwork and individual development.
  • Establishing partnerships and relationships with key partners across all levels of government.

Salary Range: $4,309.95 - $5,387.44 Bi-Weekly
