Closing Date: July 26, 2024Position SummaryAs a key member of the UHN Procurement and Supply Chain Leadership Team, the Director of Value Analysis and Clinical Integration is responsible for creating and guiding an organization wide value analysis and clinical integration department that will identify, evaluate and implement opportunities to reduce costs, enhance quality, and/or improve patient outcomes based on product, service, and/or technology optimization. As a key advisor to executive leadership, on all value analysis and clinical integration related matters, this role will also be responsible for:

  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders (physicians, clinicians, administrators, finance, supply chain, and vendor partners) and fostering collaboration between the key stakeholders.
  • Implementing governance frameworks and committees to support the successful performance of the value analysis and clinical integration department.
  • Identifying and implementing initiatives, using data and best practices, that promote product standardization and other levers of financial, operational, supply utilization, and clinical-usage optimization.
  • Liaising between key stakeholders to manage product conversions, inventory control practices, contract management, product evaluation processes, and vendor support.
  • Developing and managing departmental performance indicators and policies and procedures to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the department.
  • Facilitating complex meetings involving cross-functional teams and guiding the discussion towards actionable outcomes and plans.
  • Participating and supervising others in projects relating to both the supply chain department and the University Health Network.
Duties:
  • Develops a value analysis and clinical integration business case to build the program at UHN
  • Support value analysis and clinical integration activities for all UHN applicable products, equipment, and services
  • Develops, implements, manages and reviews short and long-term plans which are in alignment with UHN\'s strategic goals and priorities
  • Develop and implement measures to monitor compliance, including escalation process
  • Monitors progress towards the achievement of goals at regular intervals and takes action, as required.
  • Represents the value analysis and clinical integration department internally on UHN committees, as required, and UHN in the external community at conferences, workshops, etc.
  • Human resource management: recruitment, coaching and management of employee relation issues
  • Financial management: financial stewardship and accountability of the departments annual operating budget
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate Degree in a relevant field e.g. business, supply chain, commerce or economics or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of (5) years of proven experience managing complex value analysis and clinical integration projects, preferably in a healthcare environment
  • Demonstrated people management and leadership experience
  • Sound working knowledge of the Ontario Broader Public Sector Procurement Directives, trade agreements, and public procurement laws
  • Demonstrated proficient communication skills, both written and oral
  • Demonstrated organization/time management skills
  • Knowledge of procurement and supply chain tools SAP, Ariba is an asset
  • Proficiency of business computer application including MS Office 365 and SharePoint
  • Developing/conducting presentations - advanced knowledge
  • Project Management and/or conflict resolution training
  • Ability to interact with all levels of internal staff, hospital staff, clinicians, external stakeholders, suppliers
  • Team player, sense of urgency, strong communicator, resourceful, time management, integrity
  • Ability to prioritize workload, manage unexpected occurrences and at the same time manage deadlines
