OverviewAs the Director, Technology Operations, you will be responsible for the delivery of infrastructure architecture (with a focus on cloud services), system operations, network operations, and enterprise monitoring services.In addition, you will create and refine information and technology capabilities within the organization, and provide the research, planning, development and implementation efforts to offer cost-effective, leading-edge information and technology solutions required to meet the Corporation\xe2\x80\x99s overall goals and objectives, and the needs of its business partners. These solutions are focused on continuous improvement of all core functions and support the creation and maintenance of a Corporate Cloud strategy.You will work to ensure that information and technology services align with current and future corporate needs. The position plays an instrumental role in the success of the Technology Operations department through focus on the procurement of, continuous operational support to, and protection of corporate data and infrastructure assets. The Director, Technology Operations has an important role in selecting and training talent and in building/enhancing relationships with strategic partners who provide infrastructure and cloud services.Responsibilities

  • Directs the research, planning, development and implementation efforts to provide cost-effective, leading-edge infrastructure (cloud), network, and monitoring solutions required to meet the needs of the corporation and its business partners.
  • Provides strategic direction for enterprise-wide IT operations, including selection, procurement, maintenance and support of enterprise infrastructure with an emphasis on Cloud computing and related services.
  • Identifies and standardizes the use and governance of information in support of the overall business strategy including the creation and maintenance of a Cloud strategy.
  • Contributes to the development of enterprise standards and technology architecture, technology evaluation and transfer, and the IT governance process. This includes direct oversight of Infrastructure architecture roadmaps and practices, integrated into divisional and directorate roadmaps.
  • Contributes to the enterprise change control planning as well as the development of enterprise technology standards, governance processes and performance metrics to ensure IT delivers value to the enterprise.
  • Responsible for operational stability and infrastructure availability to ensure the seamless delivery of IT infrastructure and platform services to the enterprise.
  • Provides oversight of service level agreements and the financial management of externally provided services for technology infrastructure, such as storage, servers, and support and productivity solutions to ensure high availability and business resiliency to better meet the needs of our customers.
  • Directs the implementation of processes and technologies which monitor system, workstation, application and network performance.
  • Responsible for all activities of a Director, including management of a significant operating budget, participation in strategic planning, long term human resource planning, budgeting for special projects, and improvement initiatives.
  • Responsible for hiring, performance management, workforce planning, and staff development planning, including a focus on succession planning.
  • Keeps current on business knowledge, internal to the function and across the Corporation. Seeks out development opportunities to expand knowledge and experience.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Commerce, Business Administration or related discipline.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset.
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certification is an asset.
  • CISSP certification is an asset.
  • Related technical certifications in cloud services, server management, network / security management are considered assets.
  • Ten years of related senior level experience in the areas of information technology management, infrastructure, and business improvement in a complex business environment, including:
  • Five years at a senior management level.
  • Five years managing system operations, network operations, including multiple, cross-functional teams and related projects.
  • Three years in transitioning from on premises infrastructure to Cloud platforms (Microsoft, Amazon, Google, IBM).
  • Experience implementing and evolving an Enterprise monitoring platform is an asset.
  • Advanced knowledge of information technology management.
  • Advanced knowledge of Cloud platforms including vendor landscape, architecture benefits / risks, migration plans and delivery, and ongoing service operations.
  • Intermediate knowledge of enterprise application and technical architecture principles, and associated tools, technologies, methods.
