Job Description

The Saskatchewan Assessment Management Agency (SAMA) is an independent agency that develops and administers property assessment policy for the province, and provides property appraisal services to over 750 of Saskatchewan's urban and rural municipalities.



Position Overview:



Reporting to the Managing Director, Technical Standards and Policy Division, the Director's responsibilities include planning, organizing, staffing, training, and directing the development and communication of provincial property assessment research and policy as well as providing leadership in developing and maintaining property assessment publications, technical standards, and guidelines used in the assessment of properties in Saskatchewan.



Required Qualifications:



You are licensed to undertake valuations in Saskatchewan (LAAS) with the Saskatchewan Assessment Appraisers' Association and hold a professional appraisal/assessment designation (AACI or CAE). You demonstrate the ability to apply advanced knowledge of property assessment legislation, policies, and procedures to complex assessment issues. You bring proven leadership capability in organizing and leading diverse work groups--including employees, clients, and stakeholders--and in effectively managing change within the property assessment environment. You apply strong analytical and research skills to support property assessment policy development and initiatives. You communicate complex technical information clearly and persuasively through written reports, presentations, and verbal discussions. Your formal education includes a university degree or post-secondary diploma in a related discipline, however a combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Those selected for an interview will be required to provide proof of acquired education. Candidates may be considered for a developmental opportunity where full qualifications are not yet met.
