Summary:

Reporting to the Vice President, People(s), Culture and Experience, the Director, Team Member Acquisition & Total Rewards oversees the effective and efficient operations of the talent acquisition, total rewards, and HRIS/people analytics portfolios to enable the Hospital to successfully attract and retain valued talent. The Director provides leadership in: employing leading practice to improve talent acquisition and total rewards methodologies and approaches; leading the implementation of new projects and initiatives; and directing the service delivery of the various functional areas. The Director models and inspires the GRH organizational values, sets department goals that align with these values and the strategic directions, works collaboratively with all hospital teams, fostering a quality-focused and responsive customer service environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop talent acquisition and total rewards strategies & programs that enable Grand River Hospital (GRH) to effectively compete for and retain talent in support of its strategic directions
  • Lead the talent acquisition strategy and employ leading practice to create meaningful experiences for both candidates and hiring leaders
  • Identify and deliver innovation and improvements (process, systems, tools, routines etc.) to deliver exceptional end to end experiences and increase efficiency and effectiveness in our day-to-day operations.
  • Develop and implement sustainable total rewards practices, policies and structures, including job evaluation systems, salary structures and pay practices for union and non-union compensation programs; enhanced approaches to flexible rewards etc..
  • Manage vendor selection and administration of all employee benefit programs such as extended health, dental, life, and service recognition awards. Partner in the administration of LTD plan.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, maintenance and integrity of HRIS data, developing consistent data management processes, and driving execution of the long-term HRIS systems strategy.
  • Provide leadership and partner internally in understanding and meeting people analytics needs.
  • Design and implement reporting strategies and products to enable better data-driven decision making and investments.
  • Advance the understanding and use of analytical techniques and data literacy across the team.
Education and Experience:
  • Undergraduate Degree in a related field; Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree preferred
  • Ten years of progressively responsible related experience , including 5 years of experience in management working in a fast-paced, complex unionized environment
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Certified Employee Benefits (CEBS) designation an asset
  • Experience developing and managing budgets
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • In-depth understanding of Talent Acquisition strategies and operations, the markets we operate in and the trends that impact the labour market.
  • Proven ability to build excellent partnerships, provide strategic advice to internal stakeholders and stay connected to understand business needs and emerging trends.
  • Superior knowledge and understanding of relevant subject matter in relation tocollective agreements, legislation, trends and best practices
  • Familiarity with single and multi-employer defined benefit pension plans, including pension legislation, governance and employer administration & reporting responsibilities
  • Experience developing, implementing, directing and monitoring a comprehensive compensation strategy that attracts, retains, motivates and rewards a high performance workforce
  • Experience developing, implementing, directing and monitoring a comprehensive talent acquisition strategy, including a robust candidate sourcing strategy (technical and social solutions), election process and recruitment metrics
  • Strong leadership skills with experience planning and implementing human resources programs, policies and procedures
  • Data driven leader with strong analytical skills and an approach to decision-making that leverages available evidence
  • Understanding of human resources information systems; good understanding of appropriate audit processes for quality control, equity issues, data integrity and reporting purposes
  • Visionary leader and systems-thinker that is able to analyze business needs and think strategically in order to impact long-term organizational strategies
  • Demonstrated experience acting as a change agent, leading in a complex environment
  • Courageous leader who can consistently engage, guide and motivate a multidisciplinary team in times of opportunity and ambiguous situations
  • Ability to establish trust of leadership team; build effective influential relationships both inside and outside the organization at all levels
  • Solid organization, management and human relation skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to present viewpoints and ideas effectively
  • Demonstrated excellent consultative, negotiating and problem solving skills to work with stakeholders to shape solutions under pressure and with conflicting demands
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office Programs (i.e. Word, Excel)
