RBC is hiring a Director of Stress Testing Analytics. This role is responsible for the Enterprise Wide Stress Test, Macro Stress Test (OSFI) and Ad-hoc Stress Tests. Specifically, this role involves leading a team and collaborating with a broad suite of stakeholders across Risk Management, Finance, Corporate Treasury and RBC Economics to assemble the bank's financial, capital and liquidity projections under stress. The team is responsible for developing stress testing data aggregation and analytical tools that provide senior management and regulators insights into the bank's performance under a variety of scenarios, including during rare 'black swan' events.
As part of the Enterprise Stress Testing team, this role provides unique opportunities to gain a birds-eye view into the inner workings of a large financial institution; learn finance, risk, and treasury concepts; apply data science skills; and learn how novel risks such as geopolitical tensions and climate change impact the financial system.
What will you do?
Lead the development and transformation of enterprise stress testing tools and capabilities, prioritizing changes and strategic/tactical recommendations to ongoing enhancements.
Lead the production of Stress Testing results covering the impacts on capital, liquidity and management action under various stress scenarios.
Provide senior management, business partners and regulators insights to assist with business planning, capital allocation and risk management.
Lead cross-functional stress testing participation and challenge of key inputs across Group Risk Management, Finance, Corporate Treasury and RBC Economics.
Build a deep and holistic understanding of the various entities within the bank and how changes in the external environment can impact financial performance.
Guide the development of stress economic projections through historical data analysis and model development.
Keep abreast of advances in stress testing analytics and regulations that may impact the program.
Ownership of controls and oversight of inputs into Stress Testing.
Support the activation of talent on the team, through continuous development planning and coaching
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Minimum 5+ years of corporate treasury or risk management experience (in the financial industry), with exposure to loss provisioning, stress testing or capital management.
Degree in Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Behavioral Economics, or other quantitative field of study.
Well-developed and demonstrated leadership and relationship competencies with the ability to lead internal, cross-enterprise, and external teams to drive initiatives forward
Experience developing concise and impactful executive-level reports, presentations, and other deliverables.
Advanced analytical, problem solving and time management skills.
Advanced proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint, including experience working in Python and SQL.
Strong understanding of banks' balance sheets, P&L and capital.
Nice-to-have
Previous experience running ICAAP, Stress Testing or Capital Planning programs.
Proficiency with a range of data tools, such as Tableau, Bloomberg Terminal, etc.
CFA, FRM, CPA, or any finance- or risk-related professional designation/certification.
