Why this role is important?

Nature and Scope

Reporting to the Vice President, Operations and Clinical at MediSystem, the Director - Strategy and Planning is responsible for MediSystem\xe2\x80\x99s internal strategic roadmap. This key role has a broad and fully cross-functional view across the entire MediSystem business, bringing together the various departments to be the voice of MediSystem within the greater enterprise. This role works intimately with other areas of the business and broader enterprise monitor and deliver on MediSystems\xe2\x80\x99 KPIs and performance metrics, including revenue and EBITDA targets.

What you will do:

  • Lead and deliver MediSystem\xe2\x80\x99s internal operational strategic roadmap
  • Develop and establish short/long term departmental goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures
  • Oversee, analyze and evaluate operational and financial performance on business strategies and initiatives
  • Lead the business\xe2\x80\x99 annual planning process, monthly forecasting, tracking and analysis of actual results (financial, operational, program health, and other metrics as required.) in collaboration with Finance, SDM Pharmacy Planning & Pricing, and other relevant departments
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline and improve planning and reporting processes
  • Manage MediSystem analytics and subsequent reporting to various partners and clients
  • Identify, monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas of opportunity and develop and execute on action plans and ensure maximum benefit to the organization by meeting and exceeding financial targets
  • Develop/support strategic system enhancements to improve operational efficiency and performance
  • Oversee the digital enhancement roadmap for MediSystem, working alongside other teams within LCL and SDM to drive long term strategic vision for all systems and data management
  • Lead and coach teams responsible for Systems, Business Insights and Project Management while focused on engagement and continuous improvement
  • Develop the full MediSystem capex budget annually, and manage and monitor spend and reallocations on a period-by-period basis
  • Provide capex reporting and direction on capex allocation to the enterprise
  • Identify RFPs (which drive over 90% of MediSystem\xe2\x80\x99s revenue), develop response strategy, and oversee response process (including pro forma creation and review, collation and submission of RFP response, and creation of presentations)
  • Oversee evaluation and responses for non-RFP business opportunities
  • Develop executive-level presentations
What you will need:
  • University degree with focus on Business Administration, Engineering, Health Care Management, and/or Finance
  • Business acumen and superior knowledge of Canadian pharmacy operations and long-term care industry/pharmacy programs
  • Proven ability to develop and drive multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously
  • Experience in creating and defending business cases for large, complex, multi-year projects
  • Ability to develop financial plans, in collaboration with executives and other colleagues
  • Ability to communicate effectively leveraging data, statistics, market research, scientific studies and other relevant information to influence individuals from a variety of educational backgrounds, levels of seniority and experience
  • Excellent analytical skills; ability to rapidly assess relevance, accuracy and statistical significance
  • Experience managing sensitive programs in highly regulated environments
  • Strong MS Excel, Access, PowerPoint skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; proven ability to communicate with all levels of the organization, and to work in a cross-functional environment
