The salary range for this position is:

  • Recruitment range: $106,897 - $133,623 maximum starting salary is determined through knowledge, experience and internal equity.
  • Performance range: $153,666 salary range ceiling is available through annual performance increases.
Job Summary
Mandate / core purpose of role:
  • Represents the Vice President Finance and Operations within the University and to the external community.
  • Directs, leads, influences and/or supports new and ongoing initiatives and projects within the VPFO portfolio, and organization-wide initiatives and projects where the VPFO has responsibility.
  • Leads the development, revision, and interpretation of VPFO policies and collaborates on organizations-wide policies that impact the VPFO portfolio.
  • The Director is required to deal with emerging, time sensitive and/or highly controversial issues and situations relating to VPFO, that can result in negative feedback.
Objectives:
  • A core function of the position is to lead and drive forward the development of new and existing projects within the VPFO portfolio that involve cross campus integration and/or where the projects are complex and have high impact for the University and where the individual area does not have the appropriate expertise, capacity or resources.
  • Leads or collaborate on department and process reviews, which are often cross functional, as required to move forward initiatives in the VPFO portfolio.
  • Represents the VPFO on high profile and sensitive campus wide events and activities including communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Leads, manages, and influences policy development, interpretation, and revision of policies within the authority of the VPFO and influences policy development and revisions for other policies to the extent they impact the VPFO portfolio.
  • Manages the VPFO office including supervision of staff, overseeing the Board process, and providing support to the VPFO and other Direct Reports as required.
Job Requirements
This position requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of project management, policy development, administrative and supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
