As ATB\'s next Director - Beef Segment, you will be a segment specialist as part of the Agriculture leadership team, supporting the Agriculture Business Team in the upstream and downstream markets of the Beef ranching, feedlot, and processing segment.

You will support the development and execution of a segment business plan that aligns with ATB Agriculture and Business Banking strategies and objectives. You will provide proactive segment analysis and work to align ATB\'s portfolio of product and service offerings with customer and prospect needs to enable growth through competitive differentiation and customer success. Particular focus will be in the area of developing market knowledge & risk understanding, developing segment presence, addressing credit policies, and building consistent process and experience for clients and banking team members. You will be required to balance the needs of many stakeholders and build strong relationships internally and externally, directly influencing the segment success of ATB.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Segment expert for ATB, develop market knowledge & segment presence to support banking team members and clients with an approach at opportunities with clarity and understanding
  • Develop market knowledge and ATB presence by actively participating in industry conferences and networking events, promoting ATB and supporting and/or managing initiatives or partnerships important to segment and ATB success
  • Analyze and understand segment economics and outlook, competitive situation and offerings, risk factors and mitigation strategies for segment and sub-segment opportunities
  • Continuously review ATB product and service offering, credit policy and processes to align and optimize differentiated solutions that balance growth opportunity with portfolio risk
  • Recommend improvements and/or tool utilization that support sales, credit analysis and processes to balance growth with risk knowledge and mitigation
  • Understand market growth and share data, and existing client portfolio to identify and develop prospects based on market knowledge and industry interaction
  • Provide leadership support to the banking team and across ATB in developing a consistent segment approach with educational, coaching, and/or specific client file support opportunities
  • Engage with other internal partners and stakeholders to provide segment expertise as needed
  • Support a collaboration relationship with Brand and Communications functions to ensure ATB\'s presence in the segment is effective
Requirements:
  • Minimum five years of related sales or leadership experience, preferably in a financial institution
  • Minimum two years of leadership experience in a stakeholder capacity or better
  • Recognized business training (e.g. University Business Degree, recognized designation)
  • Broad business acumen, strong analytical skills, and beef industry knowledge an asset for understanding industry, economic, and broad customer needs
  • Strong knowledge of sales and marketing strategies and tactics, ability to develop customer-focused product and service solutions to generate business and growth
  • Demonstrated senior level collaboration, negotiation, influencing and motivational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with clients or senior management leaders in communications and presentations
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate attractiveness of new business opportunities
  • Network of business, personal and professional contacts with strong relationship building skills
  • Knowledge of business banking, products and policies, and credit skills an asset
  • Background expertise and a passion for serving the Agriculture sector
