Who we're looking for
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary
Director, SEO
to establish, grow, and drive our SEO practice. This role combines technical expertise, brand-centric strategy, and innovative thinking to ensure our clients excel in an ever-evolving digital landscape. The ideal candidate will be excited about standing up a formal SEO practice and will lead the charge in shaping product offerings that integrate emerging technologies like generative AI. This is an opportunity to build and mentor a team, define standards and business practices, and define SEO's role within BIMM's brand and business.
Responsibilities
Build and Lead BIMM's SEO Practice
Develop and lead the agency's overarching SEO strategy, ensuring alignment with client goals
Assist with recruiting efforts, mentor, and lead a team of SEO specialists
Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of the SEO practice
Represent the SEO practice in new business pitches and client meetings with confidence and clarity
Own SEO strategy for top-tier accounts; act as the senior point of contact for SEO-related matters
Establish best practices and standards to drive consistency and excellence across client engagements
Technical SEO Expertise
Conduct detailed site audits to improve performance, crawlability, and indexation.
Implement technical optimizations, including structured data, mobile-first strategies, and site speed enhancements.
Collaborate with development teams to integrate SEO best practices into website builds and migrations, as well as troubleshoot issues
Familiarity with enterprise-level architectures and their potential impact on SEO
Manage complex SEO projects, such as large-scale website migrations and dynamic content optimization
Innovation and AI Integration
Stay ahead of industry trends, focusing on AI-driven search and content creation
Integrate AI tools into SEO workflows to reduce repetitive tasks and supercharge activities such as content ideation, dynamic personalization and trend detection
Lead the adoption of innovative approaches to optimize for evolving algorithms and AI-powered search engines
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with other agency departments to integrate SEO strategies into broader campaigns
Ensure SEO considerations are embedded in all project stages, from strategy to execution
Work closely with paid media teams to create synergistic strategies that amplify organic and paid results
Client Advocacy and Thought Leadership
Serve as an SEO thought leader within the agency, with clients and within the marketing community at large
Develop product offerings and/or practice approaches to facilitate the sales process
Build strong client relationships by delivering impactful presentations and demonstrating the value of SEO initiatives
Identify opportunities to expand the agency's SEO footprint and offerings
Performance Analysis and Reporting:
Build standardized reporting methodologies to enable campaign reporting at scale
Lead recurring performance reviews with clients, delivering clear insights, analyses, and next step recommendations
Develop traffic growth projections and revenue impact estimates to support strategic planning and client investment proposals
Lead development of competitive landscape analyses to identify clients' content gaps, backlink opportunities and keyword expansion targets
Requirements
6+ years of relevant SEO experience, including leading teams and complex projects
Proven success in an agency setting or other consultancy
Deep technical SEO expertise, including tools like Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, SEMrush, and Ahrefs
Skilled in SEO techniques tied to front-end technologies (XTML/CSS, JavaScript), including Schema markup, canonicalization, JavaScript, server-side rendering, and crawl/indexation management
Strong understanding of branding principles and the ability to align SEO strategies with brand objectives
Analytical skills to derive insights from data, identify opportunities and translate them into strategies
Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with a proven track record of influencing stakeholders and driving incremental revenue
Nice to have
Experience with headless CMS, Edge SEO, and enterprise-level SEO initiatives
Familiarity with Agile frameworks and tools like Jira and Confluence
Retail or Automotive SEO experience
Expertise in multilingual and international SEO optimization
