WHAT WE\xe2\x80\x99RE LOOKING FOR We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for a Director, Scientific Program Development \xe2\x80\x93 Global, who will design, enable and own the Scientific program management process from concept to business handover, overseeing the development and management of new products and new markets roadmap based on the adopted strategies and business vision. This is a hybrid role based out of our Toronto office. WHAT YOU\xe2\x80\x99D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE

  • Connect the company\xe2\x80\x99s mission and key goals to a product strategy, and develop key tactics and KPIs to advance on that strategy
  • Lead new product scientific strategies, category alignments and provides strategic guidance on innovation opportunities in collaboration with brand and commercial partners
  • Build and present business cases for all new products, inclusive of market landscape, pricing, and forecasts in collaboration with scientific & sales planning
  • Drive the product scientific planning process, shaping best practices and enabling maximum efficiency across the Scientific pillar.
  • Collaborate with the Scientific discipline leads and the Project Management team in securing timelines for each phase of the development process, to ensure on counter date is met
  • Work collaboratively with the brand, production, commercial and supply chain teams to develop and maintain efficient product processes
  • Ensure seamless communication processes that provide product updates (ingredient changes, reformulations, supply chain issues, out of stocks) to affected areas of the business
  • Maintain and oversee the management of financial budget for new product development, to ensure spent is aligned with overall Scientific budget
  • Input into and orchestrate the long-term NPD strategy, ensuring that development plans align with operational capacity of the Scientific business unit
  • Develop and enable the timelines and key Scientific milestones for commercialization in line with the new market expansion business strategy
  • Collaborate with Sustainability to integrate sustainability innovation and measurements into the product development and production process.
  • Orchestrate the planning of Scientific led initiatives, including but not limited to Scientific collaborations
  • Ensure effective transitions of existing/reformulated product development into the market, working with Supply Chain Management and Commercial teams to support successful product rollouts
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE
  • 7+ years of product management in a Scientific environment is essential
  • Solid understanding of product development lifecycle and previous cross-functional experience in similar industry is essential
  • Experience working with Senior Leaders to deliver information and secure alignment on deliverables
  • Able to influence and collaborate on Product strategy with multiple cross-functional stakeholders
  • Experience in integrating sustainable practices throughout the product development and production process
  • Natural affinity for problem solving and proven crisis management experience
  • Passion for the beauty and skincare industry
  • Relevant education in life sciences and product management is essential
