Mawiamalga'tijig / Mawokahtine

, Canada's first professional high school dance training program dedicated to Indigenous youth, offering a culturally rich learning experience that honors Indigenous traditions.Role Summary:As the Administrator, you will lead and shape the future of both the School and Mawiamalga'tijig / Mawokahtine. This role demands visionary leadership, strategic planning, and a deep commitment to arts education and cultural inclusivity.Key Responsibilities:- Leadership & Strategy: Drive educational and outreach initiatives, fostering excellence in teaching and performance while building partnerships across communities.

Program Coordination:



Oversee operations, manage faculty, and ensure seamless logistics for various programs, including Mawiamalga'tijig / Mawokahtine.- Community Engagement: Cultivate an inclusive environment that celebrates cultural awareness and facilitate events showcasing Indigenous knowledge.- Financial Management: Administer budgets, collaborate on funding proposals, and ensure compliance with educational policies.-

Team Leadership:



Recruit and mentor faculty and volunteers, fostering a collaborative environment focused on student well-being.

Qualifications:



5+ years in arts education leadership or program administration. Bachelor's degree in an arts-related or educational field. Proven success in team management and financial oversight. Experience working with youth in artistic settings. Excellent organizational and administrative Bilingual communication skills (English/French preferred; Mi'kmaq or Wolastoqey is a plus). Up-to-date First Aid certification and satisfactory background checks are required.
