What is the opportunity?

Join RBC\xe2\x80\x99s Compliance Department to lead the Canadian Regulatory Change (CRC) team supporting the wealth management, capital markets and banking businesses. This role provides an opportunity to support RBC\xe2\x80\x99s businesses in navigating Canada\xe2\x80\x99s changing regulatory landscape.

What will you do?

  • Lead the Canadian Regulatory Change (CRC) team through the monitoring of regulatory developments (including regulatory enforcement actions), leveraging unique subject matter expertise, determine the relevance of regulatory changes, accountabilities, impact on Canadian Business Segments and other 2LOD and 1LOD stakeholders..
  • Provide advice based on broad expertise to ensure timeliness and accuracy of the advocacy activities of the CRC team, including providing support to key stakeholders on responding to initial comment letters and other requests relating to regulatory change, as well as representation on industry committees as relevant.
  • Support Regulatory Strategy Committee and coordinate with global peers on regulatory change processes, governance, strategy and cross-regional regulatory change.
  • Lead and develop a diverse group of Senior Managers reporting to the Director role, utilizing broad expertise to provide and facilitate necessary training and development, and performance management activities.
  • Coach and mentor to motivate the team into a cohesive, highly motivated and satisfied work group through developing mandates, goals and providing assessment of performance, fully utilizing RBC Rewards & Recognition program and coaching on areas for personal and group development
What do you need to succeed?

Must-have
  • 7-10 years of progressive experience in a Compliance, Legal and/or Risk Management role
  • Understanding of/ experience in analyzing and interpreting regulatory requirements
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of securities and banking businesses
  • The ability to work independently, and with senior stakeholders, and take all views into account
  • Ability to simplify and streamline methodologies and processes using innovation
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changes while still achieving goals
