Your New Role...

Work with VP of theatrical marketing in the development and execution the of Canadian publicity outreach strategy for each campaign. This encompasses all aspects of the campaign including but not limited to analyzing tracking, press screenings, junket and Canadian press tour management, pitching and securing long lead covers and features and servicing of all press materials

Your Role Accountabilities...

Ensure Canadian publicity and promotional campaigns are aligned with the Global directives

Ensure all publicity material i.e. trailers, enriched content, special features, clips etc. are being localized and serviced to all internal and external outlets/partners accurately and in a timely manner

Manage, maintain and nurture relationships with national, regional and local press to maximize publicity and partnership opportunities for Canada

Create and distribute pre-approved Canadian press releases for local events and activities

Oversee all aspects of the screening programs including press screenings, word of mouth, campus and promotional screenings. This includes everything from scheduling, execution, reporting and post-mortems, working hand in hand with 3rd party publicity and staffing agencies

Research, pitch, develop and manage all aspects of National and Regional media, retail, and brand partnerships and promotions. Working closely with the worldwide National Promotions team in Burbank to ensure we are strategically aligned

Responsible for managing and updating Pub/Promo budgets per film and reporting weekly to Sr. Management

Ensure vendors invoices are processed in a timely manner. This includes processing through Purchasing cards and through the SAP / I-Campaign system. This role will be a Shopping cart approver***

Liaise with various creative agencies to develop out of the box opportunities across the Country garnering maximum publicity and public exposure

Liaise with head office legal team to ensure all contractual obligations are met, Canadian laws and guidelines are adhered to and appropriate approvals are in place for all contests and national promotions campaigns

Create summarized Canadian Publicity and Promotional reports for Sr. Management and filmmakers. Reports are inclusive of strategy overview, campaign highlights, promotional values and complete Canadian publicity coverage

Manage logistics and co-ordination with head office working with various teams including marketing, production, creative services, special events, field, and Sr. Management for all Canadian Film festivals including the Toronto International Film Festival

Qualifications & Experience...

Create a positive environment for team members; engage resources to encourage collaboration and teamwork.

Undergraduate university degree or diploma in public relations, communications, the arts or entertainment marketing

Minimum 5 years of marketing experience preferably within the entertainment industry

Established relationships and experience working with Canadian press and promotional media contacts

Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment

Ability to multi task, highly organized with excellent problem solving skills

Extremely creative in designing promotional events and publicity activities

Highly organized project management with solid follow-through skills

Confident decision making skills

Due to the nature of publicity events there could be extended work hours. (after hours, long days, attention to detail)
