Overview
The Director of Project Management, Industrial provides executive leadership and strategic oversight for multiple national accounts and project teams. This role is responsible for driving successful delivery of complex projects, fostering client relationships at the executive level, leading business development efforts, and mentoring senior project management staff. The Director ensures alignment of project management practices with corporate goals to maximize operational excellence and profitability.
Please note this is not an IT Project Management role.
Responsibilities

  • Provide executive leadership and strategic direction for all project management activities across multiple national accounts and regions.
  • Oversee and ensure successful delivery of complex, multi-phased projects ranging from high-end fit-outs to large-scale corporate headquarters exceeding $50 million in value.
  • Lead the development and implementation of project management standards, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage overall portfolio budgets, schedules, risks, and resource allocation to optimize project outcomes and profitability.
  • Serve as primary executive liaison to key clients, strengthening partnerships and identifying new business opportunities.
  • Drive business development efforts by collaborating with sales, marketing, and executive teams to expand service offerings and market presence.
  • Mentor and develop Directors and senior project managers, promoting leadership excellence and succession planning.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with internal stakeholders including Construction, Development, Accounting, and Legal teams.
  • Ensure rigorous quality assurance and control throughout project lifecycles.
  • Oversee resolution of escalated issues, disputes, claims, and change orders.
  • Approve major contracts, budgets, and expenditures while maintaining compliance with company policies.
  • Prepare and present executive-level reports on project status, financials, risks, and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Extensive experience managing multiple national account clients with full responsibility and accountability.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement comprehensive project management strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Expertise in overseeing diverse project teams across multiple locations.
  • Strong skills in stakeholder engagement, risk management, quality assurance, budget and schedule control.
  • Demonstrated success in executive-level client relationship management and business development.
  • Advanced proficiency in RFP processes, contract negotiations, and vendor/consultant management.
  • Exceptional leadership capabilities in mentoring Directors and senior managers.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with senior executives across Construction, Development, Finance, and Operations.
  • Deep understanding of leasing processes, architectural and engineering plans, permitting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, PowerPoint, Procore, Planswift, or equivalent tools.
  • College degree preferred in Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or related field; relevant certifications highly desirable.
  • 15+ years of progressive project management experience, including interiors and base building projects.
  • LEED or WELL accreditation is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
