We manage every step within the art development and supply chain process - from art consulting, publishing, and manufacturing. Working directly with artists, owning the rights to tens of thousands of images, we manufacture in-house, which allows us to offer accessible prices, shorter lead times and uncompromised quality. A state-of-the-art print department offers extensive printing options on traditional papers, alternative substrates, and vinyl wallcovering. Director, Production & Operations Reporting to the CEO the Director, Production & Operations is responsible for the overall management and co-ordination of various manufacturing and operations functions within a single facility in Canada: * manufacturing operations * forecasting * procurement * process development and improvement * quality * inventory management * logistics * facility management and * support of both production and organization IT and software systems. This role requires knowledge and deployment of efficient manufacturing practices and systems as well as quality and continuous improvement techniques, strong analytical and quantitative skills, excellent communication, interpersonal effectiveness, and leadership. Through participation on the Senior Leadership Team, the Director will develop programs and actions to embrace, support and champion change management initiatives and cultural shift with the objective of improving team cohesion, employee engagement, accountability and ownership, communication and transparency. Responsibilities * Develop and execute business plans supporting business strategic objectives including the development and implementation of strategies, processes, and programs * Motivate, direct, coach and develop a diverse, high performing operations team to meet established goals and organizational capabilities * Routinely review business results with operations personnel to maximize factory performance * Foster an environment that supports an engaged safety culture * Develop a culture that embraces the tenets of operational excellence - TPM, Focused Improvement, Lean or Kaizen * Oversee the IT support role required for manufacturing systems and data management, as well as manage third party IT systems and user support. * Maintain and oversee full facility and office maintenance * Exposure to the business P&L with a good understanding of key cost items in an operational / industrial setting; and ability to navigate a financial statement and extract trends and recommendations * Committed to support and improve the data systems available at the operational level (e.g. ERP) and continuously seek means to further integrate with other functions within the organization Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business or related technical field or combination of education/relevant work experience * At least 10 years of increasing levels of manager roles of people and process, most recently at a senior management level * Working knowledge of Environment, Health and Safety ISO Standards or other management systems * Effective Microsoft office skills - Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. * TPM (Total Productive Manufacturing) / Lean, Six Sigma an asset * Expertise in principles of operations, specific supply chain capabilities, strategies, and inter-dependencies * Expertise in key business drivers used to gauge the effectiveness and performance of an internal group or supplier * Ability to collaborate cross functionally and coordinate efforts around continuous improvement A competitive compensation package with full benefits will be offered to the successful candidate.
