Who We Are

DENSO Manufacturing Canada Inc. (DMCN) is located in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. We are the largest and only DENSO Manufacturing location in Canada. DMCN produces HVAC and ECM Assemblies for Toyota, Honda, and Ford. The Production processes on site include; Moulding for HVAC Case, PTank, Shroud and Fan. Liquid Pipe Bending, Evaporator pipe brazing, Radiator Core Assembly, Brazing and Crimping, as well as final Assembly lines for HVAC and ECM. DENSO Guelph is a growing facility with significant increases in Sales volume and bright prospects for the near future.

We are searching for a Director, Production Control to lead a team of dedicated DENSO Associates to achieve manufacturing excellence and to build future success!

Job Summary

The Director, Production Control directs operational activities for the internal and external warehouse. A keen eye for Safety risk and ability to drive Safety issues toward resolution quickly is a must. High urgency for customer shipping and strong floor Management skills, including Warehouse Systems and Lean Manufacturing are required.

Additionally, directs the Production Planning Department including Parts Ordering, Inventory Control and Cost reduction activity. This includes overseas and domestic Logistics and internal warehousing optimization between 2 locations. Plans, develops and establishes the policies and objectives for PC departments, in accordance with regional and global strategies, while also adhering to all federal, provincial and local regulations.

DENSO Canada maintains a minimal level of Inventory to optimize our competitiveness, so excellent visual management tools, timely escalation and robust systems are required to be successful. The PC Leadership team is comprised of one Senior Manager, three Manager positions, and approximately 100 Sub-Direct Associates working primarily on 2 shifts at the Main Plant. As the Director of Production Control, you will be one of 4 Directors at DMCN, reporting to the President. Additional scope and responsibilities could be available depending on the candidate, including up to 2 more Manager reports.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with other Senior Leaders at DMCN to enhance competitiveness and develop a culture which values people first.
  • Acts as primary contact for Sales and negotiator with Customers related to shipping concerns including PDCA of Delivery Issues.
  • Coordinates with DENSO North America (NA) PC to implement and establish standardized tools and methods across DENSO NA.
  • Directly and through the management team, directs personnel activities by developing performance expectations, assessing individual training needs, and planning for goal obtainment. Identifies and develops future leadership candidates in the operations units.
  • Develops short and long-term strategies and business plans for each assigned group to align with company goals and objectives.
  • Identifies, monitors and reports to top management on key performance indicators for each assigned group.
  • Supports achievement of profit objectives through prudent control of expenses, labor and capital investments.
  • Maintain the requirements of certifications for IATF and ISO, ensuring compliance and quick PDCA to resolve issues.
  • Utilizes extensive data analysis to determine root cause and address major issues regarding inefficient warehouse operations, safety incidents and/or environmental concerns.
  • Oversees and Manages the Genba including; 5S, Daily Asaichi, Visual Management Tools, Excellent Factory Tools, Leader Behavior, Escalation of critical issues and Plant Culture.
  • Complete IDP for self and direct reports, ensuring that Human Development is a priority.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree in supply chain, business administration or equivalent related work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of Production Control leadership experience (management level) with proven capability to meet deadlines, targets and ensure Safety and Quality first.
  • In-depth knowledge of Production Control and Logistics terms and practices.

Salary Range CAD $141,000-$176,000
