What is the opportunity?

The Custody product function is responsible for Global & Domestic custody (\xe2\x80\x9ccustody\xe2\x80\x99), Global Funds Platform, Primary markets products (ETFs, Loans), Investment Counsellor and Pension Fund solutions and Benefit payments (\xe2\x80\x9cCustody Services\xe2\x80\x9d) within Investor Services (\xe2\x80\x9cIS\xe2\x80\x9d).

In this role, you will lead the development of the overall product strategy, direction to enable benefit realization. The initial focus for this role will be to deliver a modern payments capability that align with product standards while enabling the Operations team to unlock efficiencies incrementally. You will lead the design of the target state Custody Payments Business Architecture which includes designing, developing products to support client retention, target client acquisition, enhance client experience and deliver on commitments made to clients, including drive execution of approved product change/development. Initiate and support the Product Standards & the operating framework for custody.

What will you do?

  • Lead the design of Payments (as first priority) and Custody business architecture, ensure alignment of technical architecture with product capabilities while unlocking operational efficiency gains for IS
  • Lead a team of 2-3 resources responsible for design and efficiency of product operating model(s), product standards and technical stack/architecture, with an objective to simplify where possible
  • Deliver set of assigned objectives on time, on scope and on budget
  • Collaborate with Custody Product Management in the assessment of available market intelligence and stakeholder feedback (clients and functions) on the strategy and evolution of the custody business, including target market, features, product/service experience, regulation and compliance.
  • Responsible for analysis of product-related change, including commercially viable and client focused business cases, with prioritization and approval of product, client, operational and regulatory change. Business cases to be managed in-collaboration with Profitability and Protocols.
  • Lead development and maintenance of the suite of end-to-end Custody products focused on delivering NIAT growth through enhancing/digitizing products, generating client value, delivering solutions by geography and platform.
  • In collaboration with Product Management, deliver a clear product roadmap
  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate governance, compliance with policies/frameworks and oversight of issues, risks, audit and compliance items
  • Where appropriate, support client design for non-standard client on-boarding for Custody with Client Experience teams
What do you need to succeed?

Must-have
  • BA or BSc in business, or other relevant degree
  • 7 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in the industry, with a specific focus in Custody Operations, Payments (payment technologies, end-to-end processes), Securities Finance and Global Markets
  • 7 years\xe2\x80\x99 of experience successfully lead delivery of complex initiatives that are transformative in nature
  • 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in target state design, including development of business case to deliver the target state
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong ability to analyze, document and articulate complex processes and concepts in a clear and succinct manner
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work cross-functionally with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Sound technical knowledge of the financial services and asset management industry
  • Extensive experience in developing efficient strategies and business plans for all in-scope products
  • Proven curiosity regarding fintech and evolving investment industry trends
  • Strong corporate knowledge
  • Strong proficiency with collaboration and agile tools (Confluence, JIRA)
  • SWIFT experience and/or payment products is a plus
Nice- to-have
  • MBA, post-graduate in business or finance
  • Professional qualifications from a recognized industry body
