Summary:



The Director of Procurement and Planning is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing Enercare's procurement and supply planning functions across national and regional operations. This role drives cost optimisation, supplier performance, and operational excellence through integrated sourcing strategies, advanced planning methodologies, and cross-functional collaboration.



The incumbent will lead a team of procurement managers, planners, and analysts, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, compliance standards, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Director will also provide vision and leadership in transitioning from legacy procurement systems to modern platforms, while maintaining operational continuity.



Responsibilities

Develop and execute enterprise-wide procurement and planning strategies that support business growth, cost efficiency, and service excellence.Lead strategic sourcing initiatives across direct and indirect spend categories, including HVAC, water heaters, and service parts. Oversee demand planning, inventory optimisation, and material availability to support national service delivery and installation operations. Champion Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes to align supply chain activities with business forecasts and customer demand. Implement lean procurement practices to reduce waste, improve cycle times, and enhance supplier collaboration. Provide leadership in managing and upgrading procurement systems--ensuring effective use of existing tools while guiding the transition to future platforms. Collaborate with Legal and Finance to negotiate and manage supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and audit standards. Lead warranty management processes, ensuring supplier accountability and cost recovery for defective or non-performing products. Develop supplier qualification frameworks and performance scorecards to drive accountability and continuous improvement. Drive talent development and succession planning across the procurement and planning teams. Represent Procurement in strategic forums including headcount planning, expansion charters, and executive steering committees. Foster a collaborative, team-oriented culture--strong interpersonal skills and a team-first mindset are essential. Demonstrate strong negotiation skills to secure favourable terms and build long-term supplier partnerships.

Qualifications:



Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred. Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in procurement, supply planning, or operations leadership. Proven success in managing complex sourcing categories and supplier ecosystems. Strong negotiation, financial acumen, and contract management capabilities. Experience with ERP systems, procurement analytics, and planning tools. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders. Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills. Commitment to ethical procurement practices and continuous improvement. Experience in warranty management and supplier recovery processes. Familiarity with lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
