About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Director, Palliative Care Network, the Director is part of the Palliative Care Network and is responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership in the areas of policy development, planning, and provincial standards. The Director leads the advancement of defined priority areas according to the Network\'s goals and objectives and the mission, vision, values, policies, and strategic directions of Nova Scotia Health. A provincial approach to planning and development is required, while also ensuring community adaptation.
The Director will develop, implement, and monitor system-wide strategic plans, policies, standards, initiatives, and processes to move complex and multi-faceted initiatives/projects forward, many of which may be at different stages of evolution with different timeframes and accountability mechanisms.
The Director will provide leadership through a collaborative, systems approach to enable the provincial implementation of a grief and bereavement model, with an immediate focus in Northern Zone. This will involve building new and fostering existing partnerships that support the achievement of priorities and working closely with system partners and community. The incumbent is responsible for actively developing consultative and collaborative partnerships with diverse stakeholders to advance the objectives and build capacity related to the grief and bereavement model. The incumbent will work collaboratively and co-design initiatives with community groups, organizations, partners and will ensure that patient, family and public advisors are included in working groups, committees, etc.
The Director will demonstrate strong background and knowledge of the health care system, community development and engagement, integration, system design, quality improvement, implementation science and the delivery of effective change management processes and practices.
