Primary Purpose:



The Director of Pharmacy Experiential Learning (EL) will provide visionary leadership for the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) experiential learning program. This role is pivotal in driving strategic initiatives, fostering innovation, and ensuring alignment with the College's mission and long-term goals. The Director will lead a high-performing team, cultivate strong internal and external partnerships, and champion excellence in experiential learning to prepare graduates with strong professional identities who deliver safe and effective care and contribute meaningfully to the health of patients and communities.


Nature of Work:



As a leader within the College, the Director operates with significant autonomy and accountability, influencing policy, strategy, and program development. This position requires exceptional leadership skills, strategic foresight, and the ability to effectuate collaboration across diverse partners, including students, faculty, health and professional organizations. The Director will navigate complex challenges, manage competing priorities, and advance initiatives that enhance the quality and impact of experiential learning.


Key Leadership Responsibilities:




Strategic Direction:

Develop and implement a vision for experiential learning that aligns with the College's strategic plan and advances pharmacy education in Saskatchewan

Team Leadership:

Inspire, mentor, and lead the EL team to achieve operational excellence and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability

Program Advancement:

Drive continuous development and improvement of EL curriculum, preceptor development, and interprofessional learning opportunities

Stakeholder Engagement:

Build and sustain relationships with external partners, including health authorities and professional associations, to strengthen experiential learning networks and resourcing

Policy and Governance:

Represent the EL unit on College committees, contributing to strategic planning, program evaluation, and policy development

Thought Leadership:

Identify and contribute to emerging trends in pharmacy practice and experiential education, positioning the College as a leader on campus and in pharmacy education Other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean Academic

Qualifications:




Education:

First professional degree in Pharmacy (e.g., Bachelor's or PharmD). A graduate-level degree (e.g., MSc, MBA, PhD, Post-baccalaureate PharmD, etc.) in a relevant field is required

Licensure:

Licensed or eligible for licensure in Saskatchewan

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of pharmacy practice experience; proven leadership and management experience strongly preferred

Skills:

Strategic thinking, team leadership, relationship building, change management, and exceptional communication skills. Familiarity with educational technologies (Microsoft Office, Canvas, CORE ELMS, Canva, Cascade) is an asset
