Send us your resume and join a people-centric company with a reputation of excellence.Reporting to the Controller and collaborating with Accounting, Corporate Development, M&A, Asset Management, Region\'s Operations and our external service partners, the Real Estate Director manages the Real Estate function throughout UAP\'s portfolio across Canada.This role supports the regional operations to provide efficient and productive real estate solutions through proactive strategy, facility maintenance planning and transaction management. The Director is responsible for developing and maintaining strategic relationships with corporate and regional operations leaders and serving as the subject matter expert for their real estate needs.The Director will work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders across Canada to deliver the optimum real estate outcome. The aim being from not only the safety, efficiency and financial perspective, but also to ensure a workplace that helps attract and retain personnel.Working with an energetic and high-performing team, this position offers a variety of work:Key responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the day-to-day operations in relation to facility management, lease administration and project management.
  • Conduct and document regular building inspections, as well as routine follow-ups to ensure all items identified are addressed in a timely manner with the support of our external service partners.
  • Ensure property security, life safety, and energy systems are in accordance with local codes, by-laws, and policies.
  • Ensure that corporate governance, environmental, health & safety policies and procedures are compliant.
  • Establish a real estate strategy for real estate needs by evaluating opportunities related to business demands, market factors, risks, and overall business objectives.
  • Ensure timely action is taken on real estate critical dates (renewals, expirations, terminations, etc.\xe2\x80\xa6).
  • Establish and implement a Corporate real estate and Facility Management policy and ensure they are followed.
  • Develop benchmarking standards and key metrics and update periodically.
  • Development and presentation of relevant real estate portfolio reporting to senior management and provide regular status reporting to relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective communication and integration with internal customers and external partners.
  • Manage any acquisitions, renovations, closures and store moves to make sure they all run smoothly with proper expertise and according to plan.
  • Develop, administer and submit an annual capital and operating budget accurately and on time.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree in administration, engineering or relevant experience
  • The title of CPM or RPA is an asset.
  • Have a minimum of ten (10) years in property maintenance management or commercial property management including maintenance management.
  • Experience in managing real estate portfolios and improving financial performance.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Established leadership skills, with experience in managing teams and leading cross-functional initiatives teams.
  • Fluent in both oral and written French and English (required)
  • Frequent travel.
