Position Overview:

The Director Operations, Harvey\xe2\x80\x99s, drives the creation of Harvey\'s strategies, operating plans, standards etc. The Director Operations ensures accountability is clear and rolled out across multiple franchise regions through Harvey\'s Business Development Managers and Field Operations Specialists. Primarily achieves results through the ability to lead and develop others while leading a unique geographical region. Responsibilities include full P&L responsibilities and planning as well as accountability for key financial and performance measures within the brand including Sales, Income Before Committed Cash, EBITDA, Guest Experience Scores (through online platforms and aggregator ratings), Steritech and Associate Engagement.

The role will work with other departments for the effective roll-out of menu offerings/LTO, optimize the menu, identify white space and unfulfilled searches and continue to expand and evolve Harvey\xe2\x80\x99s across Western Canada (including Central and Western Ontario and Western Provinces).

Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire field operations to drive sales growth plans, theoretical reviews and cost control solutions locations
  • Recommend and coordinate capital improvements such as renovations and other improvements which will grow sales and transactions for the brand
  • Set clear business objectives and financial targets for Business Development Managers (BDM). Use appropriate reporting tools to hold the team accountable for delivering to budget and key performance metrics. Identify, implement and execute operations improvements that drive sales or reduce costs for the brand
  • Lead and execute the development of strategic, operating and guest experience plans and lead their execution in the region
  • Develop and inspire engaged BDMs by providing regular one on one formal development discussion and ongoing coaching. Development plans in place for each BDM
  • Role Model and lead accountability of delivering strong performance by following the Performance Appraisal process
  • Ensure brand standards are current and well communicated within the brand
  • Teach and ensure that all BDMs are evaluating Guest Satisfaction feedback/surveys for all areas quarterly to identify and prioritize guest issues for the region
  • Key accountability around all metrics (Steritech, Meazureup, Guest Audit, Guest Recovery)
  • Clearly communicate Brand strategy and vision to the field, be the leader of the Brand Operations, utilize all available resources to collect, analyze and act on information to improve Brand performance
  • Role model strong relationship building with partners. Inspire and teach BDMs to build strong relationships with partners
  • Develop and maintain a solid understanding of competitive activity within the region and industry
  • Ensure that the region(s) is fully staffed with the right people by ensuring the leadership team is selecting, developing and retaining great Associates and maintaining a pipeline of candidates ready to fill vacancies
  • Work with Brand Leads and culinary team to integrate innovation and process design into restaurants to improve speed and consistency of execution and speed of service for all channels
  • Focus on continuous innovation and ideation to expand and evolve the Harvey\xe2\x80\x99s concept
Skills & Experience:
  • Education/Professional Credentials:
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma (Bcomm. or Hospitality is ideal not required)
  • Post secondary degree (Business or Hospitality ideal)
  • Minimum 8-10 years of multi-unit leadership management experience with solid P&L track record
  • Restaurant, hospitality or retail industry experience
  • Demonstrates experience in menu/culinary planning and restaurant design
  • Proficient people leader with coaching experience and ability to listen and respond effectively to Associates and Guests
  • Strategic Thinking and high level planning skills
  • Command of strategic planning processes and ability to translate strategy into operational execution
  • Impactful oral and written communication required for interactions at all levels in the organization from senior leadership team to Hourly Associates. Ability to present to large audiences, prepare written plans and reports and communicate strategic, operational and Brand standards and priorities to regional and restaurant management
  • Proficiency with computer business software applications (Google Platforms)
  • Ability to understand complex business metrics and KPIs and recognize how they can be improved in the operation
  • Strong emotional intelligence demonstrated by inspiring leadership teams to deliver Perfect Guest Experiences and strong financial metrics
  • Work is performed in a typical office environment or at the physical Harvey\xe2\x80\x99s locations
  • Frequent conflicting work demands from multiple sources
  • Occasional unexpected work demands, changes to deadlines on short notice and tight time pressures
  • Position requires national travel on occasion
