The current, centralized electricity system is not sustainable. Between the climate crisis, state-wide blackouts, aging infrastructure, and rising costs, the system needs a huge overhaul. The demand for electricity is high \xe2\x80\x93 and getting higher \xe2\x80\x93 and big power plants aren\'t meeting our needs. We say it\'s time to disrupt and decentralize.

At , we\'re energy nerds that develop software for the real estate sector. Our tech turns commercial buildings and industrial facilities into hubs in a new, decentralized electricity system. This means cleaner, more reliable, and more affordable electricity. We\xe2\x80\x99re powering the clean energy revolution.

Peak Power has developed a comprehensive software platform that alleviates strain on the electricity grid and drives value to owners of clean energy assets, buildings, and electric vehicles (EVs) through electricity markets.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the CFO, the Director of Strategic Finance will have an impact on the business through executing financing and acquisition transactions.

Peak Power provides a portfolio of turnkey distributed renewable energy projects to equity investors such as private equity funds, and provides the software required to optimize and administer the battery storage systems. The acquisition deals entail structuring the acquisition for our equity partners and raising debt for them. On the other hand, Peak Power raises equity capital on its corporate balance sheet.

This work matters. Even a small change to optimize power utilization can significantly impact our customers, electrical grid, and environment. We\'re building something that will have a lasting, positive impact.

Our new Director of Strategic Finance will:

Deliver. You have excellent time management, prioritization, and project management skills to ensure operational performance targets and project milestones are met or exceeded.

Lead acquisition target evaluation, due diligence and integration

Support capital-raising initiatives by preparing information memoranda, investor presentations, financial models, and other collateral

Report. You will monitor and report on progress, methodically evaluate processes and systems to improve efficiency; and implement processes that provide transparency and tracking

Contribute to the development of Board presentations and materials

Provide decision-making support and insights for the negotiation of transaction documents

Collaborate. You have strong interpersonal and communication skills to enable effective operations that require input, buy-in, and execution across multiple departments, as well as customer and stakeholder communications

Work closely and directly with the CFO and executive leadership to support company-wide strategic initiatives

Grow. You are a critical thinker who can seize opportunities to create value for Peak Power\xe2\x80\x99s long-term vision for optimizing power utilization and energy storage. You will proactively identify opportunities to improve operational performance, efficiency, and scalability and contribute to Peak Power\xe2\x80\x99s electric asset portfolio growth.

What you bring to Peak Power:

The experience and education.

8+ years of corporate finance and investment banking or private equity experience.

Undergraduate degree in business or related field

CA, CPA, CFA would be considered an asset

Ability to distil complex issues into structured frameworks and concrete action plans and present them in a simple manner

The drive and curiosity. You have a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude and are motivated to solve problems and support team success. You are passionate about contributing to innovative solutions to climate change.
