Rocmaura Nursing Home is seeking a Full-time Director of Spiritual Care Rocmaura Nursing Home has a long-standing tradition of caring for those needing long-term care. Guided by the spirituality and charism of its Founding congregation, the Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate Conception, Rocmaura welcomes diversity, responds compassionately to those in need, and advocates for justice, peace and the integrity of creation. Rocmaura is sponsored by Catholic Health International and is home to 150 people from the greater Saint John area, providing supportive and compassionate care and services. The Director of Spiritual Care, reporting to Executive Director of Rocmaura Nursing Home, is responsible for the spiritual & religious care of the home's residents, loved ones and staff. The Director of Spiritual Care shall work with staff to promote the spiritual life and the living of the mission. This role ensures that spiritual support, ethical reflection, and mission alignment are embedded in decision-making that supports staff development and resident care at all levels. The Director of Spiritual Care respectfully honours and promotes the various expressions of spirituality and religion that individuals may draw upon for strength. Three (3) year contract position.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: Master's Degree in one of the following: theology, ethics, spiritual care, mission, counseling, adult education, ministry, social services, health care or equivalent, is an asset. Skills in group dynamics, interpersonal relationships and adult education/learning. Endorsement by a recognized faith group. Superior communication and listening skills. Highly developed oral and written communication abilities, including interactive public speaking. Must be committed to the values and mission of Catholic Health Care. Appropriate spiritual and leadership qualities that can be brought to contemporary faith based not-for profit organizations. Must be comfortable working independently, have a global perspective, have good time management skills and the ability to establish priorities.
