Westridge HR Professionals, on behalf of our valued client, Niagara Falls Tourism, is currently searching for a talented Director of Signature Events & Festivals to join their leadership team.

Reporting to the President and CEO of this non-profit organization, this role will work collaboratively with an experienced team of professionals who share the same business goals - leading the promotion of one of the world\xe2\x80\x99s most amazing natural wonders as a premiere global destination with a focus on showcasing its members\xe2\x80\x99 incredible properties and experiences.

Niagara Falls, Ontario, is a signature Canadian tourist destination that boasts 14 million visitors a year from all over the world. Niagara Falls Tourism (NFT) is the official destination marketing organization responsible for the growth of tourism in this globally competitive marketplace.

Job Summary:
The Director of Signature Events & Festivals is accountable for the overall planning, execution, and evaluation of unique and iconic events and festivals presented through Niagara Falls Tourism.

Compensation Program:

• Salary: $100 - 115K
• Benefits program (employer paid premiums): Extended Healthcare, Dental, Emergency Travel Assistance, Long-term Disability, Life & Dependent Life Insurance, AD&D, Employee Assistance Program

*Availability for occasional evening and weekend work is required.

Specific Accountabilities for this role include:

• Seeking, recommending, and securing large-scale events and festivals for presentation by NFT that align with the organization\xe2\x80\x99s strategic plan to support the industry and drive business to our 400 member organizations which include hotels, restaurants, attractions, theatres, casinos, wineries, golf courses and so much more!
• Sourcing and securing sponsorships, grants and other sources of funding to ensure fiscal integrity of related budgets.
• Working closely with key stakeholders to develop key messaging and collateral for media related to signature events and festivals ensuring they are being promoted and presented via digital and social media platforms in a manner that aligns with the organization\xe2\x80\x99s brand and policies.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

• Graduate or post-graduate of a tourism marketing, public relations, new media, advertising, communications, or business program.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in large scale, full cycle event and festival management.
• An understanding of the Niagara Falls tourism/hospitality market; including opportunities and challenges being faced by its business stakeholders.
• Superior understanding of the tourism and special event landscape; including emerging trends.
• Highly organized and a self-starter with strong multi-tasking, prioritizing and project management capabilities.
• Demonstrated experience creating and managing budgets, interpreting P&L activities, working with business models and working with stakeholder groups.
