THE ROLE
As a member of our award-winning People & Culture team, the Director of Recruiting will lead the recruiting team strategies, programs, and solutions focused on recruiting and retaining exceptional talent at Trimac. Reporting to the Vice President, People & Culture, this role will determine the objectives and strategic direction of the team in its short-term and long-term goals while driving recruiting initiatives in alignment with our culture and our commitment to providing an exceptional employee experience.



WHO YOU ARE

  • Established experience working with a talent teams that handle full life cycle recruiting.
  • Strong data analytical ability to translate data into meaningful and actionable insights and the ability to execute a strategy based on those insights focused on cultivating a high-performing culture.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to translate talent management frameworks and solutions into influential narratives for internal teams and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills, high level of detail orientation, and ability to multitask and prioritize conflicting deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and results-driven environment.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

Strategy
  • Leads the objectives and strategic direction of the recruiting team.
  • Develop appropriate recruiting and retention strategies to achieve short- and long-term workforce capacity goals.
  • Design and align Recruiting initiatives with business strategy and objectives.
  • Ensure marketing and sourcing strategies align with business strategies with a focus on diversity to enable the attraction and recruitment of the most qualified candidates.
  • Developing, implementing, monitoring, and measuring programs and tools that will reduce turnover.
  • Set annual hiring projections and the recruiting budget based on research and internal audits.
  • Developing non-traditional sources of labour including a Foreign Worker Program.
  • Working with provincial trucking associations to raise awareness of careers.
  • Working with trucking associations and government agencies to promote apprentice programs for careers.
Processes
  • Develop and streamline internal recruitment guidelines, policies, and processes.
  • Oversee the implementation of full life-cycle recruitment processes.
  • Ensure team processes meet hiring requirements for compliance with all state and federal/provincial regulations across North America.
  • Work closely with the legal department to ensure compliance with regulations in recruiting efforts.
Management
  • Cultivating a culture of excellence and developing clear objectives for talent goals.
  • Monitor and manage recruiting department performance/metrics and recommend adjustments and process improvements.
  • Develop, coach, and mentor the recruiting team to ensure the attainment of capacity goals and employee life-cycle touchpoints for all assigned positions.
  • Ensure the recruiting team is appropriately resourced, leveraged, and trained to achieve capacity goals while meeting or exceeding key metrics.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor\'s degree or Master\'s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience in talent acquisition management., with 4+ years\' experience in a leadership role.
  • Functional experience in talent acquisition, onboarding, workforce and succession planning, and employee and leadership development.
  • In-depth understanding of employment laws at the local, state/provincial, and federal levels and best practices in recruiting.
